So here's the thing. Are there shading errors present in the bake? A little. Would you have ever noticed if you had never seen the untextured version? Highly doubtful. Is it laziness? Kind of, but it's more about focusing on the final product and not wasting time.

NURBS curves (b-splines) are still my favorite spline type. You'll almost always get natural-looking curves out of them. Bezier curves can be useful, but are also really annoying to edit and harder to make the curves look natural.

Did you know Marmoset has a sticker projection mode that wraps decals to the geometry? Great for getting stamps and other details to go around corners seamlessly.

Got this part assembled in the project, but there seems to be some alignment issues to sort out. Probably due to the original scan being slightly rotated. Getting there little by little though.

In blender, the NURBS curve object might look strange at first, but you just have to keep in mind that you need to extrude a point beyond where you want the curve to end.

PSA: The presence of an ngon does not, by itself, create bad shading. Additionally, if you can't see a shading issue in a representative environment, ie, in the final game asset, in-engine (or the final shot in film), it's not a shading "issue". Hint: There is no issue here.
