JAY-Z was asked if he was ever the “betrayer”… he said never consciously or with malice, but if a friend does something that gets them demoted, then that’s another story. He uses his late friend Irv Gotti as an example of feeling betrayed & then retaliating. Irv allowed Ja Rule to diss Jay, & Irv was going to sign Nas at the height of their beef. Jay also said he would still do anything for Irv & even helped him secure a TV deal with BET. (This was filmed before Irv passed)

JAY-Z breaks down a few of the double entendres in “Dynasty Intro” Bill Cosby’s son was murdered on a highway while trying to change a spare tire. “Knowing I can go, just switching a spare, On the highway to life, nigga I sharpen my sight” Ending with “sight” after the Stevie Wonder bars is insane.

JAY-Z’s “understanding” of how the Biggie & Pac beef started. - Pac was becoming super famous & started hanging around with some dangerous guys. - Biggie warned him about them. - Pac told the guys what Biggie said. - Pac ended up getting shot in NYC & blaming Biggie

In 1999, Ruff Ryders dropped their 1st compilation album filled with songs from Ruff Ryders artists, including DMX. On that album, JAY-Z has a SOLO song that became an instant classic & although we don’t care about Billboard, it was the highest charting song from that album.

When my pops passed, I paid(for the funeral), nothing was passed down to me” JAY-Z talks about teaching his kids about a “Will” & distributing his assets when he passes. “My parents ain’t have shit, so that shift started with me”. Also, I like how he immediately cancelled out the bad omen after saying he has a will already by saying “it’s way early”. Jay also talks about “Afrotech” & how society has given Black people a subsection of access instead of including us. He compares it to Negro League Baseball.

“Don’t call me” Will Smith says he spoke to Biggie 4 hours before he was killed, & spoke to Prince 8 hours before he passed. He said Prince was pitching him an idea of starting an entertainment company with him, Will, & JAY-Z. Prince & Jay were both on board.

Being anti-capitalism as a system is likely the right ideology to have, ETHICALLY & IDEALLY. But I have yet to see an American that claims to be anti-capitalist actually walk it like they talk it. Soon as they get challenged on the FACTS, they end up sounding stupid. Example:

Beyoncé’s ear for music is insane‼️ She heard a soul sample boom bap beat & turned it into a women empowerment song 🤣🔥 9th Wonder tells the story of producing 3 songs for Destiny’s Child. - He played beats for Jay during the Black Album sessions & Bey was in the studio. - Weeks later, Jay called & asked him to send a beat tape to Destiny’s Child. - Before he knew it, he was in LA making beats for DC & Sean Garrett
