Marta Kostyuk was asked about the possibility of Russian athletes being allowed into the 2028 Olympics “My thoughts are that it’s terrible. I think it’s very very far from fair play, for all the countries involved here. Not just for Ukraine. I 100% don’t agree with this decision. I feel like a lot of people spoke out on this issue and they obviously don’t agree as well. I don’t think anything is going to change. I want to just go out there and hopefully beat every single Russian I play in Olympics, and that’s it.”

Zverev on why he was able to reach another Slam final so quickly right after winning Roland Garros, while Dominic Thiem found it difficult after winning U.S. Open “I think Dominic Thiem in particular put his whole life and soul into winning that Slam. He came back from 2 sets to 0 down against me in the U.S. Open. I think it was such a relief for him that it was maybe a bit too much of a relief mentally. For me, I stay focused. I stay hungry. I want more. I want to continue playing at the best level. I want to continue winning. I hope I’m able to do that. On Sunday, I have another big chance.” (via Wimbledon Press)

Coco Gauff had beautiful words for Karolina Muchova after losing to her at Wimbledon “She’s someone that deserves more success with how talented she is. We have the head to head that’s leaned my way, but she’s not an opponent you want to face at any point in the tournament. I have so much respect for how she plays and how she is off court. I’m honored… not honored. I don’t wanna say honored to lose 😂. But it’s a match I’m gonna remember for my career. And it sucks to be on the losing end. But walking off the court I was like… that was a lot of fun.” ❤️ (via Wimbledon Press)

Jannik Sinner was asked if it was easier for him to talk to the Royal Family this year “Last year when we spoke you said you weren’t sure what to say to the Royal Family. Was it easier this time around?” Jannik: “It was not easier. 😂I have so much respect so I don’t… I never know where the line is. 😂 You can really see that they love this sport. This is exactly how we feel as players when we see them. They’re staying there for 4 hours under the sun with the heat, it’s really nice. I asked the kids if they still play. They’re very happy. Yes they do. We had a very very small conversation, but I love it that they also take time to talk with me.” ❤️ (via Wimbledon Press)

Naomi Osaka was asked if her ankle was okay during her match with Muchova at Wimbledon “It’s not my ankle. I’m just getting old 😂. I have plantar fasciitis in my feet. That’s what we assume it is. It’s never my ankles. I actually have really flexible ankles. Thanks for asking”

Novak Djokovic says he hopes to play Wimbledon at least one more time. He says Jannik Sinner was a level or more better than him at Wimbledon “The level is so high these days. Do you intend to come back next year when you’re 40?” Novak: “I’d like to. At least one more time. Let’s see.” “It felt like a boxing match image of you just getting battered and back and back. Did it feel that way physically? That the power was taking you off the court?” Novak: “I was just half a step late basically on any shot. It’s as simple as that. He was just a level or more better than I was. I was just not sharp enough. Not reactive enough. Not balanced enough to play him. That’s it. There was not much I could do on the court.” (via Wimbledon Press)

Jannik Sinner on if he has a superstitious ritual before playing the Wimbledon final “The night before a Grand Slam final, what do you do? What’s the superstition ritual?” Jannik: “No, no 😂. No superstitions. I’m very normal 😭. I like to spend time with my team. With my friends. World Cup is now. I think tomorrow England is playing... I like to watch football at the moment. The final is I think at 4. It’s late afternoon. You can sleep a little later. I’m very relaxed. I don’t have anything I do in the same thing over and over again. I also enjoy the moment. I know how rare these days are. Grand slam finals. Tough to achieve and to arrive. You also need to enjoy this moment and the process” ❤️ (via Wimbledon Press)

Jannik Sinner says if he lost today in the Wimbledon final, it still would’ve been a great day, ‘There’s no failure if you don’t win a Grand Slam’ “How much did winning this feel like joy and elation and also just relief?” Jannik: “I don’t think it’s relief to be honest. The only thing I’m very happy is that I’m trying to do my best every day. Sometimes you have a tournament with a good outcome. Sometimes you just don’t have… there’s nothing you can do about it. There’s no failure if you don’t win a Grand Slam. It’s very very rare days. Now I have 5 in my whole life. We talk about 5 Grand Slams but at the end of the day these are 5 days of so many other days. You just want to enjoy it. Today was a very tough day. If I lose, it’s still a great day. Playing a grand slam final is so rare and so special.. of course if I choose I choose this outcome. But at the end of the day there are always two players. Big big respect to Sascha. He’s doing something amazing. His game is growing and growing.” (via Wimbledon Press)

Coco Gauff on the hate comments she’s receiving after her loss to Muchova “I already got some hate comments and stuff but it’s ok. It just makes you stronger. Bettors who are mad, the usual. But whatever, I’ll come on the winning end next time, I’ll be sure to tag ‘em.” 😭😭😭😭 (via Wimbledon Press)

Darren Cahill on if he’ll continue working with Jannik Sinner after the 2026 season “Is there any bet going on with you and Jannik today? Any thoughts you’d like to share about your choices at the end of the season?” Darren: “No bet this year. No bet this year. 😂I’m here until the end of 2026 and then we’ll see. I did say at the end of 2025 I was finished and I turned around and changed my mind. We’ll get through the end of the year and we’ll sit down as a team and talk about what’s best for Jannik.”

Jannik Sinner on facing Alexander Zverev in the Wimbledon final “Less exchanges. Less rhythm. This we know because of the surface being that fast. Being also quite warm it’s gonna be good for a big server. He’s definitely a big server. In any case, I try to do my best on Sunday. It feels good again being back in a grand slam final. It’s good for me. I’ll just try to do my best. Whatever happened in the past between me and him, it happened. In between, he won a slam in Paris, which gave him a lot of confidence. We can see the level he’s producing here. We all hope for a good match. Then we see how it goes.”

Coco Gauff says her loss to Karolina Muchova in the Wimbledon semifinals is not a painful story, ‘Someone had to lose and unfortunately it was me today’ “I mean, as much painful as it is from the outside.. I was down 7-4 in the second round and I’m here in the semis. I had a point on my racquet at a tournament I didn’t think it would be this year I’d make the semis. It’s not a painful story. I think thousands of people would love to lose the semifinals of Wimbledon on match point. Is it something I’d love to experience again? For sure, no. But it’ll make my next moment when I win a match like this even sweeter. It’s just one of those days where it didn’t go my way. Someone had to lose and unfortunately it was me today.” 🥹 (via Wimbledon Press)
