Day 2 of moving this thing outside for real sunlight. Catching shade from the organic crowd 😝 You do realize what I’m doing can’t be done organically, right? This is way more fun for me, I grow to push limits. Gonna sting a little when I show what’s possible 😉

This flower was fresh frozen for four months before being freeze-dried and finished. A few years back, I spent a lot of time experimenting with a freeze dryer — a ton of trial and error. There wasn’t much solid info out there at the time, especially for drying whole flower. Most people were using freeze dryers for bubble hash to press rosin, not actual bud. Naturally, I had to tinker. I ended up blowing through several pounds just figuring out the process that worked best. That said, I did eventually dial it in. Freeze-dried flower is definitely a niche product — you could call it a novelty — but there’s a real market for it. One major advantage is longevity. You can store fresh frozen material for months until you’re ready to process, which is great if you’re not turning over product quickly. Biggest downside? Capacity. My unit could only run 4–5 oz at a time, and the process itself takes a while. So while there are clear pros and cons, the bag appeal is unreal. Freeze-dried flower just looks different — kind of weird at first — but in a way that grabs attention. And bag appeal still sells. I don’t own the freeze dryer anymore. It eventually became a space hog that only saw use every couple of months. But it was a fun phase, and I definitely learned a lot.
