quick thought on the Knicks/Bridges blockbuster... Many of us have a gorgeous pair of Jordans in our closet that we never wear. We say we are waiting for a special occasion, the perfect time to break them out and wow our friends or impress some girl. But we don’t. Instead, they sit on that shelf and collect dust. Is there ever a “perfect” time? There probably wasn’t going to be a “perfect” time for Leon Rose to cash in his draft chips. Among the realistic potential options, Mikal Bridges is arguably as close to a perfect fit (considering his skill set, age, durability, mentality and chemistry/connections) imaginable for this Knicks roster as currently constituted (during Brunson's prime). Life is short. Wear your Jordans. Kudos to Leon for not being afraid to crease his J’s.

(After the game, McCollum claimed JB was acting ”on Broadway,” which was bizarre considering he clearly hit Brunson in a very sensitive area.) After the refs announce that NY will be awarded a free throw, Rick heads over to Jalen. It’s unclear whether he asked Jalen if he felt physically fine, or whether the veteran NY assistant coach simply realized that KAT could benefit from seeing a shot drop. (As a reminder, Towns struggled in the first half, shooting just 1-of-6 from the floor in the first.) JB nods approvingly. Towns steps to the stripe and knocks down the free throw. A minute later, KAT drills a three-pointer from the corner (off a Brunson assist) and is off to the races. Towns finished the second half with 19 points (5-of-7 from the floor, 3-of-3 from downtown and 6-of-6 from the FT line).

Wow. Incredible story told by Mitchell Robsinon’s high school coach Butch Stockton. Stockton explains his wife passed away in September and that Robinson visited her every day she was in the hospital. At the funeral, Mitch said he’d invite Butch to live with him in NY. Stockton took him up on the offer and has been Robinson’s roommate since the start of the season.
