When a Pakistani journalist tried blaming India for SAARC’s problems during a sideline meeting at the Bay of Bengal Conference in Bangladesh, I told him that you can’t expect cooperation while terrorism continues and innocent people are being killed. India has consistently shown commitment to dialogue and the path of peace. We have never initiated aggression against any country and have only acted in self-defence when provoked. But meaningful cooperation is impossible when certain neighbours continue to fund and support terrorism, leading to the loss of innocent.
