Cashfree asked me to try the Apple Pay flow on its checkout. #collab I tried it at Westside. Apple Pay, Face ID, done. No card details. No OTP. It felt closer to unlocking a phone than paying. Such a smooth checkout process. What stood out was the quiet part. The card number is tokenised and never shared with the merchant. Rewards stay. There is nothing to fill in after the tap. For brands, that is the upgrade. A lot of high-value customers drop off at manual card entry. This removes that step for first-time buyers and higher-value iPhone purchases. Cashfree has run Apple Pay on international payments since September 2025. Indian checkouts get the same flow from Day 1.
