As many of you know, the Maine Democratic Party will hold a special convention on Saturday, July 25, where delegates will select the next Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate. I’ve agreed to four debates with Susan Collins this October. I wanted two to be town hall-style, so Mainers could ask us questions directly. Senator Collins refused — maybe no surprise from someone who hasn’t held a damn town hall in 25 years. But I’m gonna keep showing up and answering to the people of Maine. And on that debate stage, I look forward to Mainers hearing the difference between our records, who we’ve fought for, and who we’ll fight for in the Senate.

If Susan Collins really wanted to stand up for Mainers, she’d have said no to confirming Trump’s cabinet, who vowed to support tariffs. No to a war with Iran from the start that’s been raising gas prices and wasting tax dollars. No to $70 billion for ICE. No to tax breaks for billionaires while Maine’s health care system crumbles. Mainers see the difference between concern and action. And they’re damn tired of the concern.

Today, ICE fatally shot a husband, father, and member of Maine’s immigrant community. ICE’s rogue actions have now come to our state in the worst way imaginable — with the death of a fellow Mainer. This isn’t the America I want to live in. Enough is enough. Susan Collins voted to send $70 billion dollars to ICE with no reforms. I’d abolish it altogether. We need to come together as a community and demand a better future.
