أكدت دولة الإمارات اليوم، خلال المناقشة المفتوحة لمجلس الأمن بشأن حماية المدنيين، على أهمية ضمان تنفيذ قرارات مجلس الأمن وفرض الامتثال لها، في ظل استمرار الانتهاكات التي تستهدف المدنيين والبنى التحتية المدنية. وشددت سعادة السفيرة غسق شاهين على أن الهجمات والانتهاكات الإيرانية في مضيق هرمز تشكل تهديداً خطيراً للمدنيين، وتعرقل وصول المساعدات الإنسانية، وتقوض حرية الملاحة الدولية والأمن الاقتصادي العالمي. كما جددت دولة الإمارات التزامها باحترام القانون الدولي الإنساني، وتعزيز المساءلة، ودعم جهود تحقيق السلام والأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة والعالم.

At the UNSC meeting on Sudan, the UAE 🇦🇪 condemned the heinous drone attack against UNISFA’s logistics base in Kadugli and called for those responsible to be held accountable. Today, there is a clear and immediate opportunity to act in the interest of the Sudanese people. The roadmap outlined by the QUAD, under US leadership, remains the most viable framework to end this civil war. We reiterate our call for a humanitarian truce that enables safe, rapid, and unhindered delivery of aid across Sudan, leading directly to a permanent ceasefire and a pathway toward civilian rule, independent of the warring parties.

أكدت دولة الإمارات خلال مناقشات اللجنتين الأولى والثانية لمعاهدة عدم انتشار الأسلحة النووية أن البرنامج النووي الإيراني لا يمكن فصله عن سلوك طهران العدائي والإرهابي في المنطقة.وأكدت أن أي نقاش حول هذا الملف يجب أن يأخذ بعين الاعتبار التهديدات القائمة بشكل كامل. كما أدانت الدولة تجدد الاعتداءات الإيرانية الإرهابية الغادرة التي استهدفت منشآت مدنية حيوية، معتبرةً إياها تصعيداً خطيراً، ودعت المجتمع الدولي إلى ضرورة تبني نهج شامل يعالج الملف النووي الإيراني وبرنامجها الصاروخي وسلوكها المزعزع للاستقرار، محذّرة من خطورة تخصيب اليورانيوم بنسبة 60 بالمائة، حيث أن هذا المستوى من التخصيب يشكل تهديداً للأمن الإقليمي والدولي.

In an emergency meeting convened by the Security Council to address the heinous attacks on Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in Al Dhafra region, the UAE condemned in the strongest terms the unprovoked terrorist attack directed at the vicinity of Barakah. Targeting peaceful nuclear energy facilities is a redline and a flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter. Upholding the global safeguards remains indispensable. The international community must firmly confront such clear violations with immediacy, as failing to do so would risk normalizing such acts and eroding the principles the Security Council we are entrusted to maintain.

Ambassador Abushahab joined Permanent Representatives from the 🇺🇸🇧🇭🇸🇦🇶🇦🇰🇼 for a media stakeout on today’s essential draft resolution on maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s violations have continued following the adoption of resolution 2817. Threats to maritime security and regional stability persist. Today’s draft resolution reinforces established international law: ➡️ Disclose and remove sea mines ➡️ End illegal tolls and interference with lawful navigation ➡️ Establish humanitarian corridors for food, fertilizer, and essential goods The Security Council must act to uphold international law, protect civilian shipping, and preserve stability in one of the world’s most strategic waterways.

By adopting this resolution, the UN Security Council has sent an unequivocal message of condemnation. The cross-regional support for this resolution makes our fundamental message today even more significant: the world will not sit by silently as women in Afghanistan are erased from society.
