I cannot stress enough the possibility of real transformative positive opportunity for the nation and people of Iran is on the table, but President Trump's patience is not unlimited. The world cannot continue to suffer, and Iran must abide by its obligations to this Council that this Council voted for without opposition, and the world must hold this regime to account.

The path is clear: Hizballah stops attacking Israel. The Lebanese Armed Forces and the legitimate Government of Lebanon assert control over Lebanese territory. And Iran stops using Lebanon as a forward operating base. And the Lebanese people, who have suffered for far too long, finally get a chance to rebuild a country that belongs to them—not Hizballah, not its thug leadership, and certainly not to Tehran.

Yesterday, I visited Bapco, a Bahraini refinery — one of the largest in the Middle East. In the first days of the conflict, Iran deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure to inflict mass casualties. They even attacked fire suppression systems and first responder control systems. Just imagine what Iran would do with a nuclear weapon. Thankful to our Gulf partners who are standing strong with us at the UN to end Iran’s ruthless attacks on its neighbors.
