Autonomy is not a surrogate for tactics, but a tool that drives their evolution; by mastering human-machine integration, we provide joint commanders with highly adaptable forces capable of dominating complex environments. To outpace our adversaries, the Army is integrating autonomy and SI into our warfighting formations, completely transforming the speed and scale of our operations.

Decisive landpower is our ultimate deterrent; by maintaining highly lethal, forward-postured formations, the Army physically prevents adversaries from achieving their strategic objectives. The Army actively strengthens regional partnerships and builds interoperability with allied land forces throughout the hemisphere, creating a united front against transnational threats.

On National Purple Heart Day, we solemnly honor the courage and sacrifice of every Soldier wounded or killed in combat. The Purple Heart bears the profile of General George Washington, who established its precursor—the Badge of Military Merit—in 1782. Revived in 1932, General Douglas MacArthur received the first modern Purple Heart. We remember their valor and enduring service.
