Man United have always been experts at backing out of deals. Yan Diomande was a genuine prospect for United. Amorim and Vivel wanted him because of his electric pace and the potential they saw in him. Amorim had a clear vision for how he’d fit into the squad. But since Amorim left in January, United’s interest has seemingly disappeared. Now PSG and Liverpool are being linked with him. He’s worth the €100m, go spend the money and bring him to Old Trafford. But no, our board somehow always finds a way to mess up the transfer window. Apparently, strengthening the left wing is no longer a priority. 🙃

Alex Scott is the answer to our midfield problem. He carries the ball brilliantly, can play as both a No.8 and No.6, and he’s home-grown. The way he plays reminds me of Paul Scholes. Personally, I’d take him over Mateus Fernandes or Aurélien Tchouaméni. Man United cannot afford to make the mistake of letting this guy slip away.

Nico Schlotterbeck should be the centre-back Manchester United go for. He’s better than Lisandro Martínez in almost every defensive aspect — tackling, blocks, clearances, interceptions — and he’s far more reliable with his availability. He’s also excellent on the ball and can consistently play line-breaking passes. A fit, aggressive, technically gifted centre-back who can actually stay available. Exactly the type of player United need. Would you take Schlotterbeck as Martínez’s replacement?

People keep saying Baleba or Manu Koné, but I’d take Alex Scott. A midfield of Tielemans and Mainoo isn’t balanced enough. Tielemans needs someone who can cover for him defensively, and Scott is that profile. Homegrown, Premier League-proven, rarely injured, and brilliant both on and off the ball. Would you take Alex Scott at United?

Diego León has all the attributes to thrive at Manchester United. An athletic, attacking LB with blistering pace, excellent ball-carrying ability and defensive aggression. With Shaw’s injury record, León could be a valuable option. So why isn’t he even in the pre-season squads? Hopefully Carrick gives him a chance next season. This is exactly why Jack Fletcher wasn’t sent out on loan. Every time he plays, he shows maturity beyond his years. His vision, creativity and technical ability allow him to play as a No. 8, No. 10 or even deeper in midfield. I genuinely believe he has what it takes to eventually be Bruno successor. Hopefully, Carrick gives him the opportunities to show what he’s capable of this season.

Is Tynan Thompson the electric winger we’ve been waiting for at United? Fearless in 1v1s, explosive, direct, and comfortable on either flank. He’s a constant attacking threat with an eye for goal and the confidence to take defenders on. I can see him playing plenty of games for United next season if Carrick develops him the right way. Can Carrick bring out the best in him?

Harry Amass is exactly the kind of modern full-back United should be building around. His loan spell has done him a world of good, and his performances against Wrexham and Rosenborg showed how composed, progressive and confident he is. If Dorgu plays further forward, Amass deserves the left-back spot over Luke Shaw. Carrick has to start trusting academy talents like Amass and give them real game time. Why are we not talking about Daniel Armer more? A left-footed CB who is composed on the ball, physically strong, aggressive and can break lines with his passing. He has the profile to become a serious first-team defender. United have another gem in the academy. Carrick needs to give him a chance.
