Videos of Ceuta, the Spanish territory in Africa, went viral this week, showing that the region’s recent migrant crisis is still far from being resolved. This news comes mere days after Spain’s President, Pedro Sanchez, claimed that most of the migrants had been returned. These videos tell a much different story, and show just how bad things have gotten in Ceuta. Last July, the territory of just 84,000 was overwhelmed by thousands of migrants, who staged a seemingly coordinated rush into the Spanish territory. It is estimated that around 80,000 immigrants rushed in, doubling the population of the small peninsula. It has been a long week for the socialist head of state, who witnessed nationwide protests last Wednesday, as hundreds of thousands of Spaniards took to the streets, calling for leaders with more moderate stances on immigration.
