but that doesnt mean that everything done here is just for style! lifting your mouse before flicking is very situational, most of the time its done purely to make the start of the flick appear faster but it can be done to reset your mouse to get yourself into a more optimal position on your mousepad. On the other hand, I've found that lifting your mouse at the end of a flick is actually sometimes optimal for very wide angle movements.

movements like this can require so much muscle engagement that flicking conventionally can cause too much shaking at the end to gauge your targets position. lifting the mouse after the flick creates both a clear image and a physical reset to give yourself time to locate your enemy and adjust as needed. it's not something i use often and i do think its better to master conventional flicks but lifting the mouse at the end of a flick does have its place, plus it looks really cool if you are able to pull it off!
