The Kukis have desecrated Mount Koubru, the divine abode of Mahadev and Lord Koubru on April 16th. They have placed a cross there while chanting Christian prayers. Mount Koubru is revered as the birthplace of human civilisation by the indigenous janajaatis of Manipur like Meiteis and Nagas. The Koubru Hills have been a pilgrimmage site for several dharmic faiths having more than 50 sacred sites for over 3000 years. This region is a site under government protection since 1968 for its immense religious, cultural, historical and sentimental value. Currently there is heavy exchange of gunfire going on at Ward Number 7 and 9 of Moreh. Moreh has become a hub of illegal immigrants and heavily armed Chin-Kuki terr0rists.
