Why are we so passive? Why do we allow gross violations of our dignity under the guise of security frisking? I’ve openly questioned security guards before about why their electronic gadgets aren't enough, or why they even use them if they are still going to touch people. The recent news regarding St. George's Girls Senior School is deeply disturbing. Students faced invasive, highly inappropriate body including violations of their private parts, under the excuse of a drug search. Huge kudos to those brave girls for speaking up and reporting this trauma to their parents. A grown adult spreading her hands to be violated 🙄🙄🙄

I'm a product of boarding school but over the years, I've come to strongly oppose the boarding school system. Just picture sending these kids off to boarding school and dumping them on the teachers. Don't forget, they are there for nine months out of the year. That means the school administration is stuck fixing the mess that was created at home instead of fully focusing on what they're actually paid to do. We need to do better.
