END OF HUNGER... BEGINNING OF ACCOUNTABILITY...! Sonam Wangchuk ends his fast after 26 days upon getting assurance from the government and members of parliament of all political parties that the issue of accountability in the failing examination system will be discussed on the floors of the Indian Parliament. The government also gave assurance that families of suicide victims in the recent NEET examination paper leak will be given adequate compensation and that there will be no cases registered against the peacefully protesting students and youths. PEACEFUL MARCH TO THE PARLIAMENT, 20th JULY Thanks for all your messages to break my Hunger Strike, but that wouldn't help the 20 students who committed suicide nor will that help protect the mountains of Ladakh or the rivers of India. If you really want to help then do a little more than messages from comfy couches, then come to Delhi & to Jantar Mantar on 20th July, when the Monsoon session of Indian Parliament starts. DAY 4 UPDATE I’m feeling ok, bit tired though. Doctor said BP was low, I’ll increase water n salt intake. Sugar level is low at 66 but that’s because of no food for 3 days, as ketosis takes over body starts consuming fats etc. In prolonged fast it may consume muscles & organs resulting in death but I’m nowhere near that. My weight has gone down by 2 Kgs… a loss of some 650 gm per day n that’s also normal. My inconveniences are nothing compared to the 20+ students who gave their lives & the 5 youths who died in Ladakh last September. MY CLARIFICATION... to statements made by Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh regarding his warning to me to refrain from making comments on #CockroachJantaParty The meeting and the LG's tweet happened on 26th evening, yet I avoided reacting to the post that evening. But next morning it dawned on me that it was more of a press statement than just a tweet as the absurd statement appeared in several newspapers. So I made this video but again restrained myself from posting... Shayad unki aakhri ho yeh sitam, har sitam yeh soch kar hum seh gaye... But this morning even more media channels carried this... and I kept getting calls from journalists for my comments. So finally here it is... Media house are welcome to use it... no copyright
