"In this line of work... you always wind up a solo act." A sad & revealing line. Gwen has already begun rationalising Spider-Man's life as inevitably isolating (losing Peter & her dad hunting Spider-Woman). That's why Miles matters so much: he alone broke her "no friends" rule.

Great scene. "How do you know?" cuts right to the heart of it. Miles understands Miguel's logic, but rejects the conclusion: if canon demands his dad's death, then saving him shouldn't be wrong. He refuses to treat tragedy as inevitable just because it happened to other Spiders.

I love this opening's deception. It establishes "There's only one Spider-Man. And you're looking at him" only for the movie to dismantle that worldview The joke: Peter's right, but wrong about his experience being the definition of Spider-Man itself, perfectly leading into Miles

Spot's interesting because he's initially treated as a joke, then reframed as the consequence of Miles' origin. He reduces their stories to a causal chain, stripping them both of agency: "I made you into a hero. You made me into your nemesis. So you'll experience the loss I did."

Through their companionship, Miles becomes the exception to Gwen's "I don't do friends" rule with a hint at becoming something more. While her fear of closeness doesn't disappear, Miles helps Gwen open herself back up to connection, while Gwen helps Miles feel that he belongs.
