During my first year in the Iowa State Senate, out-of-state private equity companies started buying up mobile home communities across Iowa. Rents skyrocketed, and I rallied the Senate to pass a bipartisan bill to protect residents' rights. But Ashley Hinson, a state rep at the time, killed that bill as a favor to her corporate donors. Iowans deserve a US Senator who will stand up and fight for them, not sell out to the highest bidder.
