A three judge bench at the high court Nairobi has upheld Okiya Omtatah Okoiti's argument that the Southlands Estate Affordable Housing Project in Lang'ata was done without proper Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) compliance and stakeholder consultation. The court has ruled that the project violated constitutional requirements including inadequate public participation, breaches of environmental laws among other issues related to land use planning like the site involving areas reserved for transport corridors or buffers. Therefore, the project has been stopped and the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) licence quashed.

It's reported that the senior thug who resides at Statehouse ordered the money to be delivered to him.
