“Ayaan Hirsi Ali was challenged over her views on Islam and Sharia law… but the debate quickly turned explosive.” Speaker: Ayaan, you've been quoted as saying that if refugees are coming to this part of the world and bringing their misogynistic views on Sharia law, then they'd better just take a legal U-turn. People have said Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Donald Trump are speaking the same language. So how do you feel about being on the same side as Trump? Ayaan Hirsi Ali: I've been doing this for about the last 14 or 15 years, and maybe I'm allowed a sigh. Because number one, I'm amazed at the betrayal of Muslim women who, for whatever reason, have had an education and are able to emancipate themselves from Islamic law, insisting that Islamic law is not what it is and that we don't understand it. We live in the Information Age. We are literate. Any of us here can pick up the Holy Quran and read the Hadith. And beyond that, because we live in this age of interconnectedness, we can take a look at the facts of where Islamic law is implemented, what it looks like for everyone, and typically what it looks like for women. Saudi Arabia is a country that implements Sharia law. Women are not allowed to drive. They have male guardians. Their testimony is worth half of that of men. They are subjected to every possible humiliation that you can think of. Ayatollah Khomeini, in 1979, with a great deal of public approval, became the Supreme Leader. He implemented Sharia law, Islamic law. One of the first things that he did, he reduced the age of marriage to nine. Everywhere where Islamic law is implemented, you have exactly that. Speaker: Who's the "they"? Ayaan Hirsi Ali: Those who are pushing for Sharia law and those who want to implement Sharia law. Speaker: But none of us are, so that's not a matter of debate. Ayaan Hirsi Ali: The Prophet Muhammad took Aisha, one of his wives after Khadijah died, when she was six, and had sex with her when she was nine. That is Sharia law. I do not understand how someone Speaker: But this is not a debate about Sharia law. Ayaan Hirsi Ali: But this is for Sharia law! You want to get rid of child marriage? Get rid of Sharia law. Speaker: Although it embarrasses me on a global stage to say this, child marriage is common in many cultures, including in Hindu societies. Ayaan Hirsi Ali: That's why Can I just get in? Speaker: All right, I just want to bring in Farah and Hibaaq. What you are saying, Ayaan, doesn't really make sense. I'm glad that you have moved from calling for a war on Islam to saying maybe there is a possibility. In 2007, when you had that interview with Reason magazine, you said we have to go to war with Islam. That was shocking for a woman to be advocating for that. Ayaan Hirsi Ali: Can I answer that? Speaker: Let her have a sentence. Hibaaq Osman: For someone who has actually asked for Islam to be defeated militarily, I am really surprised that you are still saying the same things. And now you are backpedaling Ayaan Hirsi Ali: Islamic law. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Islamic law Hibaaq Osman: You cannot come here to talk about reform that does not exist. Speaker: Okay, I'll tell you one thing: none of these women are constrained by their religion. Hibaaq Osman: No, my point is you cannot reform anything if you don't have the credibility. The fact that you said we have to defeat Islam, you surrendered your credibility. Speaker: Okay, let me get my point in. Hibaaq Osman: There's no time. But the point is, those who claim to be able to reform their society have to be in their society.

“Do You Support Israel’s Right to Exist?” Mehdi Hasan FIRES BACK Mehdi Hasan: I've been debating hardcore Zionists, Israeli supporters of Israel, for years. And the conversation always comes back to one talking point: “Do you, or do you not support Israel’s right to exist?” If you don't, you're an extremist, you're an anti-Semite, you want to wipe Israel and millions of Israeli Jews off the map. But you don't have to concede on this point. It's a bullshit argument. Number one: Right to exist where? Israel is the only country in the world that refuses to define its borders. So if you want me to recognize Israel's right to exist, does that extend into Gaza, the West Bank, the Golan Heights, East Jerusalem all considered illegally occupied territory under international law? So, right to exist where? Number two: What is this right to exist? Where does it come from? States don't have a right to exist. People, individuals have a right to exist. Human beings have that right. Not states, not countries. The USSR broke up into Russia and 14 other states. Yugoslavia broke up. Czechoslovakia split into Slovakia and the Czech Republic. What happened to their “right to exist”? People have rights, not states. And number three: If there is a right to exist, does Palestine have a right to exist? Israel exists. It's a country with sovereignty, it's on the map. The idea that in a world where Israel is genociding the Palestinians in Gaza, ethnically cleansing them in the West Bank, and blocking their legal right to return the idea that Israel's right to exist is the one we should be concerned about, and not Palestine's, is both ridiculous and, let's be honest, racist.

“Bill Maher CHALLENGES Charlie Rose on Islam: “Find Me a Moderate Muslim” Charlie Rose: Would you come to this table and have a debate about this with a moderate Muslim? Bill Maher: Find one, yes. Find one. I saw Howard Dean on TV, and he said, “I'm about as Islamic as they are,” distancing the vast numbers of Islamic people around the world from that. That's just not true. Charlie Rose: It is true. Bill Maher: It is not true, Charlie. There is a connecting tissue between Charlie Rose: You mean, behind every Muslim is a future member of some radical Bill Maher: Let me finish. Speaker (Islam Net): How many of you agree that the punishments described in the Quran and the Sunnah, whether it is death, whether it is stoning for adultery if it is from Allah and His Messenger, that is the best punishment ever possible for humankind? Who agrees with that? Allahu Akbar. Are you all radical extremists? Bill Maher: There are illiberal beliefs that are held by vast numbers of Muslim people. Charlie Rose: Vast number of Christians, too. Bill Maher: No, you know, that's not true. Speaker (Islam Net): These are general views that every Muslim actually has. Every Muslim believes in these things. Just because they are not telling you about it doesn't mean they don't believe in that. Bill Maher: Vast numbers of Christians do not believe that if you leave the Christian religion, you should be killed for it. Vast numbers of Christians do not treat women as second-class citizens. Vast numbers of Christians do not believe that if you draw a picture of Jesus Christ, you should get killed for it. But most Muslim people in the world do condone violence just for what you think. Charlie Rose: How do you know that? Bill Maher: First of all, they say it. There's a Pew poll of Egypt from a few years ago: 82%, I think it was, said stoning is the appropriate punishment for adultery; over 80% thought death was the appropriate punishment for leaving the Muslim religion. Charlie Rose: Well, I do. Bill Maher: So to claim that this religion is like other religions is just naive and plain wrong. It is not like other religions. Charlie Rose: I don't think the Quran teaches them to do these kind of Bill Maher: Well, you're wrong about that. The Quran absolutely has on every page stuff that's horrible about how the infidel should be treated.

“Bill Maher Says Islam Is “The Mother Lode of Bad Ideas” and Fareed Zakaria Fires Back” Bill Maher: Which gets us back to my idea of Islam is the mother lode of bad ideas. Fareed? Fareed Zakaria: I've written a lot about the problems in Islam. My problem with the way you approach it is, I don't think you're going to reform a religion by telling 1.6 billion people, “Your religion is the mother lode of bad ideas. It's a terrible thing. Shape it up and change it.” If you really want to change that religion, then what you have to do is push for reform, but also with some sense of respect for the spiritual values that people take. If you tell everybody, “You suck, your religion sucks, clean it up,” they're going to get their backs up. Bill Maher: Let's say there's a social club that believes women are second-class citizens, gay people should be put to death, you should be put to death... Fareed Zakaria: But that's not all 1.6 billion people. Because if they felt that way, you'd have a lot more than a few terrorists out there. In that same Pew survey that you quote every time, 99% of Muslims in the world say that it is not a widespread belief that death is the appropriate response to... You go to Indonesia, the largest Muslim country in the world, and they have lived happily with minorities. Women are given respect. Yes, is it as advanced as the West? No. But you don't have a huge problem with jihad there. The biggest problems you have are in pathologically dysfunctional Arab societies which have had 40 or 50 years of repressive dictatorships. I have always said there is the word I've used is , there is a cancer within Islam. Our difference is, how are you going to fix it? Bill Maher: Well, first with honesty... Fareed Zakaria: You're not persuading people with what you're doing. You're getting applause lines in the West. Bill Maher: That's insulting. That I'm doing this for applause lines. Fareed Zakaria: What I'm telling you, the reality is you're not changing those people.

“Elon Musk Gets Asked “Are You Anti-Muslim?” His Answer Sparks a Heated Debate” Mehdi Hasan Slams Elon Musk After He’s Asked: “Are You Anti-Muslim?” Piers Morgan: Let’s talk about Elon Musk’s interview with The Economist. A lot of headlines came from it, but there was a clip about Muslims that I want to play, given that you're Muslim. Zanny Minton Beddoes: Are you anti-Muslim? Elon Musk: I'm against people coming to a country with antithetical views. I'm against rape and murder, and I'm against the imposition of rules and laws that are contrary to what we've come to accept in the West. Piers Morgan: There was a lot of fallout from that. New numbers showed that the murder rate in England had dropped to its lowest in 50 years. So this idea that Britain is being overrun, particularly by Muslims who are raping, pillaging and murdering everyone, isn't supported by the statistics. Zanny then said it was irresponsible for someone with 240 million followers to spread things that aren't true. Musk responded by calling her “a traitor to the West, plain and simple.” What did you make of all this? Mehdi Hasan: That's an understatement, Piers. It's outrageous, ridiculous and dangerous. He knows perfectly well that when Elon Musk attacks someone, his followers can pile on. I've experienced it myself. What's more interesting to me is the aftermath. This is the world's richest man who claims to support free speech and debate, yet whenever he gets even mildly tough questions, he melts down. He rarely does tough interviews. Remember Don Lemon in 2024? Musk became furious over questions about his drug use and then canceled Lemon's show. Now he's attacking The Economist, a mainstream publication, and calling its editor a traitor simply because she challenged his claims about British crime. And on the Muslim question, Zanny deserves credit for asking it. When someone asks Elon Musk, “Are you anti-Muslim?”, all he had to say was, “No.” He could have said, “I'm against criminals and extremists.” Instead, he says he's against people with “antithetical views” coming into the country, followed by, “I'm against rape and murder.” That's an outrageously bigoted thing to say by the richest man in the world. I'm glad she asked the question.

Bill Maher Challenges Ro Khanna on Universal Healthcare “Why Couldn’t It Work in Vermont?” Bill Maher: You say the tent is big enough for both the Democrats and the Democratic Socialists. Can I read some things from the Democratic Socialist platform? Ro Khanna: Sure. Bill Maher: Here's what I agree with: reduce military spending. I've been saying that forever. Especially in the age of drones, buying fighter planes is ridiculous. Ro Khanna: I'm very I appreciate you saying that. I'm one of the only votes on the House Armed Services Committee that votes no. Bill Maher: It's ridiculous. Close bases overseas, been saying that forever. Restore voting rights to people with criminal convictions. Statehood for D.C. I'm for that. Get rid of the Electoral College. Okay, can I read you the ones that I think are crazy? Ro Khanna: Sure. Bill Maher: Universal healthcare: no premiums, no co-pays, no deductibles. They tried this in Vermont, they couldn't get it to work. Ro Khanna: But you could do it nationally. It's worked in Taiwan, it's worked in Canada. We pay twice as much for healthcare as any other industrialised country, and we've got the worst healthcare outcomes. If you expand Medicare for everyone, everyone has to pay a little bit, and you get everyone covered. Bill Maher: So why couldn't it work in a state like Vermont? They've also proposed it in California, and the budget would have to be like $800 million. It would be two or three times what we pay for everything now. Panelist: The US Congress is not going to end private healthcare in this country. They're just not. Ro Khanna: No one is talking about ending private healthcare. They're talking about expanding Medicare. If you have Medicare with hearing, vision and dental, and expand it, people can still get supplemental private insurance. The reality is Medicare works, and expanding it is the biggest way to lower costs and get everyone covered. Bill Maher: Again, I'm confused why it would work nationally when it couldn't work even in these two states. Ro Khanna: Because the states didn't have the waivers to get the money. You need the Medicare/Medicaid money that the states didn't have. It's hard to do it on a state without the waivers.

Chelsea Handler Says Joe Rogan Makes “Too Much” His Response Is Brutal Host: Rogan has fired back at Chelsea Handler. The classless crackpot slammed Joe Rogan because, quote, "he makes too much money." Seriously? So, Rogan has made 82 million dollars in podcast earnings, making him Forbes' highest-paid podcaster of 2022. Amazing, and I think really well deserved, because there is a reason why he is number one. He engages in debate, in robust discussions. I mean, something the left oh, they wouldn't dare to do. Chelsea Handler, jealous, posts: "82 million to be completely uninformed and say 'whoopsie doodle' every time he's wrong, which is FREQUENT?" And then she went on to suggest that that money should go to veterans or children. Imagine dictating what someone should do with their hard-earned salary. Well, now Joe Rogan has dissed her right back. Podcast Clip Guest: Didn't you you recently pissed off Chelsea Handler, I saw. Joe Rogan: I didn't know. Joe Rogan: What happened? Guest: Well, I guess she's very upset with you because she believes that you're an evil capitalist pig who makes too much money. Joe Rogan: Oh, well, that's funny. She's rich. That's crazy. That's what she said? I make too much? There's a certain number? There's a certain number you should make? Guest: Yeah, she was very, very, very perturbed. Joe Rogan: Oh, I think she's just getting attention. I can't be bothered. But, um, I know her. I've known her forever. I wrote a blurb for one of her earlier books. Uh, never had a bad word to say about her publicly. Every time I've seen her, I think I've given her a hug. So, I don't know what's going on. But it has nothing to do with me. You know, whatever it is, it's zero to do with me.

“Bill Maher and Rula Jebreal's Debate on Islam Took a Heated Turn Live on Air.” Rula Jebreal: Would you accept an openly anti-Semitic person to give a commencement speech to Jewish students? I actually would not. Bill Maher: Even Reza Aslan says I'm not a bigot, so I resent the idea that I'm comparable to an anti-Semite. All I've ever done is read facts. Rula Jebreal: What facts? You never invited... I'm sorry, Bill. You're comparing Jihadists, Salafists, Sunnis... You don't know the difference. You're putting all Muslims into one bucket, including secular Muslims. And when you talk about them that way, Bill, it's offensive. Bill Maher: But it's okay to be offensive. Speaker: That's what free speech is all about. If free speech is only speech you like, it's not free speech. Rula Jebreal: He was invited to give a commencement speech, not a debate. If you want a debate, I'll gladly join you anywhere. Speaker: He was invited to be a commencement speaker, and then people didn't like what he said. Bill Maher: Can you be gay in Gaza? And live? Rula Jebreal: Yes, you can. Absolutely. You're comparing the majority of Muslim countries to places like Saudi Arabia. Bill Maher: Is there a gay bar in Gaza? Rula Jebreal: I travel the Middle East. This is what I do for a living. You're comparing all Muslim societies as if they're the same. Gen. Wesley Clark: I think this is really about whether someone can be invited to give a speech. People may agree or disagree, but that's the American system. People should be allowed to speak. Rula Jebreal: The Muslim community in this country is being treated like a fifth column, and they're not. They feel threatened, they're underrepresented in the media and politics, and you never invite them here to discuss these issues. Bill Maher: Never invite them? You're here. Reza is here. They're here all the time. Rula Jebreal: On these issues. Bill Maher: Every time I say something you don't like, suddenly it's not a serious conversation or I'm a bigot. That doesn't work for me. Rula Jebreal: I don't want a war on Islam. I want to win the war on terror. But when you repeat the same things Al-Qaeda used to say—that this is a war on Islam—you're doing their work for them. My father was Muslim. He was Sufi. You don't even know the difference between Sufi, Sunni Shafi'i, or Sunni Hanbali. Bill Maher: Yeah, I do. Rula Jebreal: For you, we're all Jihadists. Bill Maher: I know that in many places around the world, if you left your religion, there would be consequences. Would it be okay for someone to say, "You know what? I'm a Presbyterian today?"

“Bill Maher DEBUNKED: Mehdi Hasan Challenges His Israel War Claims” Mehdi Hasan: Bill Maher is annoying, unfunny, misogynistic, Islamophobic, and of course, pro-Israel. So much so that he can't stop lying in order to defend it. Bill Maher: The energy in their party is with the young people who learn everything about Israel on TikTok. They don't know shit. Every war Israel has fought is a war of defense, right? Every war, they were attacked first. Mehdi Hasan: The kids don't know shit, Bill? Or is that you? Time for a debunking. Let's look at three major wars. Who started them? First off, 1956, the Suez Crisis. Israel, Britain, and France colluded together to invade Egypt. Israel attacked on October 29th, and Britain and France joined two days later. Israel always says that any war they start is a defensive war, a preemptive war. But we know Israel, France, and Britain got together to plan this war of aggression a week earlier in Sèvres, France. It was a war of conquest, not defense. Number two, 1967, the Six-Day War. Israel attacked Egypt before expanding its attacks to Syria and Jordan. The standard Israeli narrative is that this was a preemptive war. But Egypt wasn't about to attack Israel. In 1982, Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin admitted: “We decided to attack him.” And in 1968, Israel's own military chief, General Yitzhak Rabin, said, “I do not believe that Nasser wanted war.” So no, the Six-Day War in 1967 wasn't a preemptive war. It wasn't a war of self-defense. It was a war of aggression and occupation by Israel against its Arab neighbors.

“Matt Walsh Challenged Mehdi Hasan to Name Islam’s Contribution to America” Mehdi Hasan: We need to talk about Matt Walsh. Normally, I wouldn’t waste time responding to a basic-mean internet troll, but Matt is so emblematic of everything wrong with the modern MAGA right: faux outrage, self-victimization, verbal abuse, a walking, talking Dunning-Kruger. He’s upset with me for being Muslim and an immigrant, but above all else, for being an American. He called me a “spiteful, lying, self-entitled brat” and an “ungrateful little bitch.” Just as Jesus would have said. Matt Walsh is a shock-jock podcaster, former radio DJ, and basically that Daily Wire guy who isn't Ben Shapiro. He also said COVID wasn't a big deal, then admitted he got it wrong. But here's my favourite. Matt was so bothered by a Black woman playing Ariel in The Little Mermaid that he said: Matt Walsh: From a scientific perspective, it doesn't make a lot of sense to have someone with darker skin who lives deep in the ocean. Mehdi Hasan: There are no words to describe how dumb you have to be to make scientific arguments about the skin colour of mermaids, which are fictional characters. This is the guy millions on the right turn to for intellectual guidance. And consistency isn't really his thing either. He once said identifying yourself as a “girl dad” is cringe and corny. In 2020, he said being a #girldad is a great blessing. He complains about political violence and death threats when they're aimed at him, but he's happy to dish it out to people he doesn't like. Now, what's really bothering him about me is what I said in Dearborn: Mehdi Hasan: I think that if you can play church bells, you can play the call to prayer. Mehdi Hasan: Isn't it okay for Muslim Americans to broadcast a call to prayer, within reason and in accordance with local sound ordinances? Mehdi Hasan: Matt went nuts and said, “Christianity built this country. Islam did not at all, in even the slightest way.” To which I responded: Mehdi Hasan: One in three of the slaves who built this country were Muslims. They were here long before the Walsh family arrived. Matt responded with a 13-minute video, but couldn't rebut the two central points: enslaved people helped build this country, and perhaps up to one in three of those slaves were Muslims. Muslim slaves are a historical fact. Matt Walsh: If Islam had ceased to exist 300 years ago, this country would not have lost a single thing. There is not a single good thing about our country that we would not have if not for Islam. And if you doubt that, give me an example of the great gift that Islam has given to this country since its founding.

Bill Maher Challenges Charlie Rose: “Islam Is Not Like Other Religions” Bill Maher: I think liberals should stop booing me for pointing out that Islam is not like other religions, that it is a unique threat. Charlie Rose: But it's not Islam you're against. Bill Maher: Howard Dean said, “The people in ISIS... I'm about as Islamic as they are,” distancing the vast numbers of Muslims around the world from it. That's just not true. Charlie Rose: It is true. Bill Maher: It is not true, Charlie. There is a connecting tissue between Charlie Rose: You mean behind every Muslim is a future member of some radical Bill Maher: Let me finish. There are illiberal beliefs held by vast numbers of Muslims that I don't think have Charlie Rose: Vast numbers of Christians, too. Bill Maher: No, that's not true. Vast numbers of Christians don't believe that if you leave Christianity, you should be killed. They don't treat women as second-class citizens, and they don't believe drawing Jesus should get you killed. Does ISIS kill people indiscriminately who aren't like them? Yes. Would most Muslims do that or condone it? No. But most Muslims in the world do condone violence just for what you think. Charlie Rose: How do you know that? Bill Maher: First of all, they say it. There's a Pew poll of Egypt where 82% said stoning was the appropriate punishment for adultery, and over 80% thought death was appropriate for leaving Islam. So to claim this religion is like other religions is naive and wrong. Saudi Arabia has also beheaded people for nonviolent crimes, including homosexuality. Charlie Rose: They even cut the hands off a thief. Bill Maher: Right. We're upset when ISIS beheads people, as we should be, but Saudi Arabia does it too, and they're our friends because they have oil. This is the centre of the religion. In Mecca, non-Muslims aren't even allowed into the holy part of the city. If people were being beheaded in Vatican City, don't you think there'd be a bigger outcry? This is the soft bigotry of low expectations. When Muslim people do or believe things we consider extreme, it's somehow not discussed nearly as much. Charlie Rose: I don't believe what we see with ISIS represents Islam. I don't think the Quran teaches them to do this. Bill Maher: Well, you're wrong about that. The Quran absolutely has horrible things about how infidels should be treated. And can we really say women are treated equally in the Muslim world? Their testimony in court is often counted as half. They may need permission to leave the house, and women are forced to wear burqas. And I hear liberals say, “Well, they want to.” They've been brainwashed.

Bill Maher: “Why Can’t We Even Call It Islamic Terrorism?” Bill Maher: Obama said, “No religion is responsible for terrorism. People are responsible for violence and terrorism.” That sounds a lot like the NRA slogan. Rob Reiner: Yeah. “Guns don't kill people, people kill...” Bill Maher: He also said, “The notion that the West is at war with Islam is an ugly lie.” The Atlantic said, “The reality is that the Islamic State is Islamic.” So, who's right about this? Rob Reiner: I think neither are right. If you look at the most violent Islamic groups, whether it's ISIS or Al-Qaeda, these are essentially Sunni-based. And they would not be where they are now, especially in Syria and Iraq, had we not removed Saddam Hussein. Bill Maher: He looks better all the time. Rob Reiner: I'm not saying Saddam Hussein was a good guy. Bill Maher: He wasn't a good guy, but sometimes there are no good answers. It's just the best one possible. Rob Reiner: Basically, it is a religious war, but it's a religious sectarian war. And to paint it all as “Islamic,” I think is a big mistake. Elahe Izadi: Obama is trying to avoid the phrase “Islamic extremism.” This was the same challenge President Bush confronted. Bill Nye: If you say everybody who's Islamic is a terrorist, you're headed for trouble. Bill Maher: No one is saying that. Bill Maher: But this idea that we cannot even call it “Islamic terrorism” seems Orwellian to me. We're paying a very high price for this, which is we can't discuss it even rationally. Can't we at least say that there are a number of factors involved, and the religion is certainly one of them? Rob Reiner: Absolutely. Bill Maher: He presented this idea that it's poverty and education. It is poverty and education also, but why are they impoverished and uneducated? It's mostly because of the religion. Bill Nye: What do you think about pumping the internet into there, somehow? So that everybody had access to all of these books... Bill Maher: Yeah, that's another thing the religion might be against. And not to mention the sex part. They're fucked up about women!

“Ben Affleck Explodes After Sam Harris Calls Islam ‘The Mother Lode of Bad Ideas.’” Ben Affleck: So you're saying Islamophobia is not a real thing? That's bigotry. It's gross. It's racist. Sam Harris: I'm not denying that people are bigoted against Muslims. But we have to be able to criticize bad ideas. Islam, at the moment, is the mother lode of bad ideas. Ben Affleck: Jesus! That's just an ugly thing to say. Of course liberals want to criticize bad ideas, but you're painting an entire religion with one brush. Nicholas Kristof: The picture you're painting is incomplete. Plenty of fanatics are Muslim, but so are the people standing up to them. Ben Affleck: What about the more than a billion Muslims who aren't fanatical and don't do any of the things you're talking about? Bill Maher: Do you really believe those billion people don't hold any of these beliefs? Ben Affleck: They don't. Bill Maher: That's just not true, Ben. Bill Maher: The idea that someone should be killed for leaving Islam is that just a few bad apples? Ben Affleck: The people who actually believe and act that you should murder someone for leaving Islam are not the majority of Muslims at all.

“Ben Shapiro Left the Entire Panel Stunned With This Explanation of Critical Race Theory.” Bill Maher: You describe it, and then we'll ask, what is Critical Race Theory? Ben Shapiro: I studied Critical Race Theory in law school. At its core, it argues that racism is built into every American institution, and that even "neutral" systems are really tools of racial power. Ben Shapiro: The practical result is this: any racial disparity is treated as proof of discrimination, and schools end up teaching that white students benefit from privilege because the system was built for them. Bill Maher: Right. Malcolm, what's your definition? Malcolm Nance: I agree with everything he just said. Bill Maher: Oh... great! Malcolm Nance: I appreciate him honestly describing what it's like to be Black in America. Those ideas are grounded in truth. We don't talk enough about things like the Scalp Act, the Chinese Exclusion Acts, and other parts of American history. Ben Shapiro: That's not true. We do talk about those things. Malcolm Nance: You don't want them talked about! Ben Shapiro: Malcolm, that's simply false. I've discussed those issues myself. But if you argue that meritocracy is just another form of white supremacy, then you're saying the very system you've succeeded in has to be torn down. Do you believe your success came from merit or not? Malcolm Nance: My great-great-grandfather escaped slavery and fought for this country. He never imagined his descendants would have to argue that history even matters. Ben Shapiro: Nobody is denying that history. The issue is whether Critical Race Theory is influencing policy today. When schools lower testing standards to eliminate disparities, that's an example of those ideas in practice. Malcolm Nance: Can you draw a straight line to that? Ben Shapiro: Yes. One hundred percent. If merit is dismissed as an outgrowth of white supremacy, lowering standards becomes the logical next step. That's why this debate matters.

“Andrew Wilson share heartbreaking story on how he lost his only son!” Patrick Bet-David: Did you have kids? Andrew Wilson: I did. He died in an accident when he was 10. He died in a car accident. Patrick Bet-David: You got to be kidding me. I am so sorry to hear that. I did not know that. Andrew Wilson: I had him since he was basically two. This was Rachel's youngest son. When he was ten, he went over to watch a movie at a friend's house. While they were there, the older brother stole his parents' car, put him inside it, took it out on the road, and basically high-tailed it into a tree and crushed him to death. Patrick Bet-David: The other 10-year-old? Andrew Wilson: No, this was the 10-year-old's older brother. Patrick Bet-David: But the 10-year-old was in the car as well? Andrew Wilson: Nope, he wasn't. Patrick Bet-David: Why did he take his brother's best friend? Andrew Wilson: The speculation was that younger kids look up to older kids. He wanted to impress the 14-year-old. “Yeah, I'll go with you.” Co-host: Did the older kid, the one that flew out the window, pass away as well? Andrew Wilson: No. Thank God he made it. He had a broken arm. Host: Good kid. Andrew Wilson: I'm not sure that I would say that. He ended up being something of a delinquent. But at the time, it was the most heart-wrenching, awful, horrific experience that you can imagine.

Iman Shumpert says having kids is what really drains athletes' money. Iman Shumpert: Another thing... when y'all having y'all kids, moms be having hella kids, but it's like... they're court system kids. “While you're playing, that baby mama is draining your account every month, but you don't even see it because you're still playing. “The moment you stop... you're going to start feeling it.” Interviewer : If you're making $40 million a year, $20,000 or $30,000 a month doesn't feel like anything. Then you've got private school tuition on top of that. Iman Shumpert: I do numbers really well. I saw that Odell quote, and I don't think he was talking about himself. “He was just saying he understands how people mess that kind of money up.” “But the one thing he didn't talk about... is the kids, bro.” “That's the real wrinkle. You can live however you want while you're playing, but once you start having them kids, money keeps going out every month. “Then after you're done playing, you're not making as much anymore... and now you really feel it leaving. Interviewer: And then you've got to pay the attorneys... yours and hers. Iman Shumpert: Yeah... that's what I'm saying. Interviewer: And then the house. You love your mom and dad, but don't go buy them a $3 million house. That's a lot of upkeep. “When you're making that kind of money, you don't miss it. “But when money keeps going out... and nothing's coming in...” “Just keep pouring it out and don't put anything back in... you'll see how fast it goes. You're going to be pissed. That's what people don't realize

Caller: “I’m 19, Is This $500,000 Purchase A Good Decision” Caller: I'm 19, getting married next year, and I have a $118,000 net worth with no debt. It includes investments, savings, and two paid-off vehicles. Dave Ramsey: Wow. How'd you do that at 19? Caller: I'm a welder making about $55,000 a year. I started welding at 16 through a school program and went full-time after high school. My grandfather is 72 and wants to retire. He's offering me his $1.1 million farm for $500,000, plus about $100,000 in equipment over time. He wants $50,000 down and a 15-year land contract at 1.2% interest. The farm brings in about $30,000 a year, so I'd only need to cover $500–$1,000 a month myself, and I hope to pay it off within 5–10 years. With my wedding next year, I want to know if it's a smart financial move. Co-Host: Do you actually want to farm, or do you want to keep welding? Caller: I want to own the farm but keep my welding job. It's a 100-acre farm with a house, and I just want to be sure it won't put me in a bad financial position. Dave Ramsey: Where do you live now? Caller: With my parents, but I'll get married next year. Dave Ramsey: Will your wife work? Caller: Yes. She'll make about $45,000, so together we'll earn around $100,000. Dave Ramsey: You'll live on the farm then. What does your family think about you buying it for less than half its value? Caller: They're not interested. Dave Ramsey: You're buying a $1.1–$1.2 million property for $500,000? I'd take that deal, but I'd make one change: don't use a land contract. With a land contract, the deed stays in your grandfather's name until it's fully paid off. If he's sued or a lien is placed on the property before then, you could lose the farm even if you've been making payments. Get the deed transferred properly from the start.

“Mehdi Hasan DEBUNKS Bret Stephens’ “Gaza Isn’t Genocide” Argument” Mehdi Hasan: The genocide in Gaza is “farcical.” That's the view of New York Times columnist Bret Stephens. So let's take on his viral arguments and rebut each of them. Bret Stephens: If Israel wanted to commit genocide, if Israel wanted to kill every single Palestinian, it could have. It is a nuclear power. Mehdi Hasan: I can't say this often enough: killing every single person is not actually the definition of genocide. The legal definition under the 1948 Genocide Convention is acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group. Four of those five criteria don't mention killing at all. We don't apply this “kill every single person” definition to other genocides. The US government declared the killing of the Rohingyas in Myanmar a genocide, but Myanmar didn't kill all of them. The US also declared the persecution of the Uyghurs in China a genocide, but China hasn't killed every Uyghur. Joe Biden called Russia's war on Ukraine a genocide. Russia is a nuclear power. Putin could nuke all of the Ukrainians if he wanted to. He has not. Bret Stephens: If Israel were trying to commit genocide in Gaza, why did it distribute polio vaccines? Mehdi Hasan: First off, Israel did not distribute polio vaccines in Gaza in 2024; the World Health Organization did. Israel simply agreed to occasionally pause its bombing campaign to allow the WHO to do their work. And why? Not simply out of the goodness of their hearts. Israel's own officials said the vaccination campaign was important to stop the disease spreading into Israel. Human Rights Watch also said Israel's attacks on healthcare infrastructure and water supplies, and its blocking of humanitarian aid, had inflamed the polio outbreak. Bret Stephens: If Israel were trying to commit genocide in Gaza, why did it allow any food at all? Mehdi Hasan: Well, not because they wanted to, Bret. Israel was pressured by the Biden administration into allowing in tiny amounts of food. Netanyahu agreed to let in only a small amount of supplies and even asked that this concession remain secret. Yeah, that's not genocidal at all.

“What Do You Mean by Jewish State?” Abdul El-Sayed Pushes Back Katie Halper: So, speaking of AIPAC and people who are very supportive of Israel, there was an interesting interaction between you and Olivia Reingold of The Free Press. Olivia Reingold: Abdul El-Sayed, who is Muslim, walks a fine line on the Jewish state. He told the crowd, “All of us love and revere Jewish folk, our Jewish neighbors, the faith of Judaism.” Later that night, I asked him whether he believes in Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state. Dr. Abdul El-Sayed: I'd love to take the question, actually. What do you mean by Jewish state? If you can't define the question, I'm not going to answer your question. Katie Halper: So, it's fascinating to me that “What does a Jewish state mean?” can be a gotcha question. Do you think most people would have a different opinion if they understood what the current Jewish state of Israel means? Dr. Abdul El-Sayed: I think most people have in their heart of hearts a commitment to foundational equity—that everybody deserves equal rights to peace, dignity, and self-determination. The reason I asked that question is because it's very difficult to square that question with equal rights for Palestinian people. Whether you're defining a Jewish state based on an actual state religion, which means that some people don't belong as much because they may not belong to the same faith. And then if you're doing it by identity, the question becomes, well, is it the identity of the leadership or is it the majority of the country? All of these become really, really difficult to square with any semblance of equal rights. If your interpretation of the identity of a state would then allow that state to discriminate against people for how they pray or because of their ethnicity, I don't think most of us would be okay with that. And I'll say that about any country. I don't believe in ethno-states, I just don't. I believe in the equal human dignity of all people. I'm grateful that I live in the United States of America where there is no state religion, no state language, and no state identity. And I don't believe that people should be allowed to discriminate against one another or that we should have whole power structures based on who people are.

Caller : “My Dad Is Demanding I Pay Him $2800 Every Month And I’m Just 19” Caller: I'm 19 years old, uh, moved away from home, um, currently living on my grandpa's farm and my dad wants $2,800 a month. you know, most kids turn of age when they're 18. Uh, my grandpa, uh, decided to do that for my dad when he turned 21. Co-Host: Like you become adults when you're 21? Is that what you're saying, instead of 18? Caller: Yes. Host: Okay, why does your dad want $2,800 a month from you? That's your adult tax? Caller: I don't know. Host: No, are you telling me... you're telling me your dad said to you in some form or fashion, um, you went to live with your grandfather, and he said, "I want $2,800 a month and you just need to send it to me," and no explanation and you didn't ask any questions? Caller: Uh, yeah. I had a couple of conversations with dad about it, Caller: So, the conversations kind of went like this. You know, I asked him, you know, I told him I didn't think it was fair. Um, you know, told him that if I'm living away from home and he's not paying any of my expenses, then he shouldn't get any of my money. so, he just said that he was offended that I even had the, how would you say it? Maybe the balls... Co-Host: Audacity? Does this... is there a link there that you're saying... Is there some sort of link? I'm trying to understand this other than to just tell your dad where he can put his opinion, which is where the sun doesn't shine, you know what I'm saying? Host: Jade's asking the right question. Is that basically your dad's demanding that because until you're 21, you do whatever he says? Caller: Yes. Caller: So, you know, in my opinion, if I'm living under his roof, eating his food, he has the right to make whatever requirements that he wants... Host: No. No. No. No, let's just set... let's just nail that down. Uh, if you were living with him now and you were making money, and you are, um, he could ask for rent, and that's totally fair, and pay a portion of the utilities, at which point you still get to decide whether or not you want to do it or not, and then he gets to decide whether or not you get to stay. So, that is a normal relationship thing. But this idea that if I lived with him, then I'd have to do whatever he says is bonkers! Demanding money from you that you make is what I was referring to. Co-Host: When you don't even live there. Austin, you're 19 right ? Host: Have you paid him... have you paid him any money? What have you paid him? Caller: Uh, $2,800 bucks a month. Actually, last while I've been sending him $3,000 a month Host: How long have you been sending him... how long have you been sending him $3,000 a month? Caller: about four months. And then before that, it was $2,800 bucks a month, and then before that, he was paying for my expenses and he got all my money. Co-Host: Is your dad... is there something wrong with him? Like is... is there a reason... is there a reason he can't work? Is there something... Caller: No. Host: No, it's a legit question. I'm laughing not at your question, but because that's... Co-Host: Something's wrong with him!
