I always thought the O.J. Simpson glove scene was straightforward because the gloves simply “didn’t fit,” but looking at what was happening with the evidence makes the moment feel very different. The gloves were tried a year after the crime, after exposure to liquid that the prosecution’s expert said caused about 15% shrinkage. Simpson was the only person being tested, yet he had to wear latex gloves underneath to protect the evidence. That protected the gloves, but also added another layer to a test about whether they fit.

Reminder that the legendary road runner chase in Kung Fu Hustle was basically live-action Looney Tunes physics. Stephen Chow spent hours on wires using his own blue socks as a VFX reference while his crew spun him on a rotating disc. Practical effects win every time.

I actually like how Heretic uses monopoly to explain Reed’s argument about religion. If one version borrows from another, changes the rules, adds new ideas and becomes more popular, does that make it a new thing or just a better marketed iteration? That question gets uncomfortably bigger with religion.

If Kung Fu Hustle dropped today, the "anti slop" crowd would have an absolute meltdown over this scene. But ignoring real world physics is exactly why this battle vs The Beast is legendary. Live action cartoon logic at its absolute finest. Bring back fun action cinema! 🫠

WAIT… The reason the Backrooms monster looks like Clark isn’t a coincidence. The clues were hiding in plain sight the whole movie.
