Training with the pistols! Tanzutsu are mechanically the same as the longer guns, but the loading and firing techniques are slightly different. This is the closest the samurai could get to ‘rapid fire’, during that period of history. It wasn’t until the introduction of cartridge fed weapons in the mid 1800’s that tactics started to change. But by then the samurai were coming to an end…
