i looooove this scene. the way vecna's first "get out" is almost as if talking to a petulant child?? the way will's struggling to stay in control?? the acting?? this also had huge potential for byler angst and hurt/comfort but these writers don't know shit.

the way will looks directly at mike when he says "i know they're not like me" and mike is in the focus and he's definitely putting two and two together. this is not the end of this plotline, it absolutely can't be. we will get more into this in the finale i'm sure

this scene still gives me goosebumps btw. the way vecna lifts will's limp body off the ground by the small of his back, the way will's breathing gives away how scared he is... oh my baby 💔

it's crazy how good the will controlling vecna scene is considering this episode is directed by frank darabont and i remember noah saying he does less takes with less time than other directors. so i imagine you kinda have to nail it faster than with other directors.

"i wish he got, like, it didn't have to be byler, but i wish he had someone that was in the story earlier for him than, like, the guy at the end. but it's okay, in the next project, we'll make up for it." oh noah, shade them again for me!!

it kinda annoys me that they wrote el as mostly disinterested in this scene (and kinda like she follows mike's lead). i think it would have been more fun if el showed interest in what dustin was showing them even if she didn't fully understand it or even if it ended up not being something that interests her because even a few years in out of the lab, so many things are new to her and you'd think her character would be naturally curious. imagine if they let show interest and ask dustin questions about it. imo it'd be cute idk

i really think it's important that more interviews bring up and address will being gay and robin being a lesbian as very important aspects of these characters' journeys. hopefully we're done with the "what did you take from set" questions.

i can't believe we have to say goodbye to will byers forever. like that truly breaks my heart so much that i'm actually crying right now. will byers, you will always be my favorite character. "i love you and i hope that you're okay"

truly insane the duffers said this episode is very important for season 5 and murray clocks nancy for the same problem mike has. it's the exact same problem. and he calls it "the second lie".

will saved hopper in the crawl because the demo did see him, but went for every guy except him. will was already subconsciously controlling the demos which means he saved hopper, joyce, erica, robin, mike, max, lucas and murray in s5 all on his own
