Breaking: Ontario Blue Jays RHP Ryan McDonough, seen here in his outing against the Arizona Diamondbacks Prospects, has signed with the @royals for $425,000. McDonough was draft eligible in 2024, and is a non drafted Free agent sign. McDonough is represented by Equity Baseball. #MLB

Agreed Héctor Gómez, this kid is unreal. International class of 2030, Braston Basker. It’s 5 tools and he might arrive at 18. He’s going to keep playing high level baseball all the time, and progressing his game. It’s truly generational ability. Know what else he is? It’s hard to envision many better bats than what Cole Prosek gives you. He uses the whole field with ease — it’s rhythm, pitch recognition, and balance that stay connected through the ball. And man, does he handle good pitching. What’s most interesting about Cole is his innate ability to slow himself down, no matter who’s on the mound. He centers the baseball on the barrel and drives it line to line. When challenged — and I do challenge him — he rises to the occasion every time. I’ve had Cole for three years, and he’s been a sponge from day one, embracing every opportunity to learn. Culturally, he’s everything you want. He’s a competitor, a leader, and a great presence in the clubhouse. On Sunday, in the final game of the Main Event — which, by the way, is not Cole’s final game with us — he faced 95 mph from first-round talent Landon Brown. Brown left one a little too much over the plate, and Cole didn’t miss it. He stayed on plane, stayed through the zone, and drove it into the right-center bullpen at Globe Life Field — a park where the ball doesn’t typically carry that way. Taken at the New Balance Baseball New Balance 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 Showdown, this is an our message on the business of amateur baseball. I know these sentiment are shared at the highest levels, and by many others out there in the community. This is what we stand for. It’s also why we take bullets, and why people tell players not to attend or choose not to associate. If you’ve ever listened to someone who’s been here, seen the players and orgs involved, and the return to families, then those aren’t reasons not to be here. There is only one reason, and we’re proud to stand on the opposite side of that aisle with those who share these ideals for players, orgs, and the game first. #WeGotNow
