Novak Djokovic argues that tennis should borrow from team sports and explains why one bad day shouldn’t erase an entire season. In basketball, a bad week doesn’t end your season. In tennis, one bad performance can end everything. “...I was just thinking to myself: what is something that I’d like to see changed in our sport? “Because you could have a format where the fans would see more of the marquee players—the biggest stars. “You know, in basketball, you have—what is it?—80 games in a season. That’s the thing: you have a whole season, right? “So you can have a bad game or two, or ten bad days—whatever—but you can still make the playoffs.

Shawn Ryan explains why one military lie shattered his trust in every institution in America: “The whole country is built off dishonesty—literally lies.” "But anyway, the point being, that’s just one institution inside the U.S. Navy. That’s it. One small—SEAL Teams are a very, very small part of the U.S. Navy. And then he’s talking about Ranger Battalion, and then there are all these other units. It just made me think: Man, this is just one war, in one small part of the U.S. government—a very small part. So that means every single U.S. institution out there is doing the same shit. Obviously the CIA, obviously the FBI—everything. All of Congress, all of the Senate, everybody in it. The presidents—everybody. And it just made me realize how the whole country is built off dishonesty—literally lies. Then you think, man, I’m only 43 years old. That’s a very small snippet in the history of the country, let alone the world—and all the other countries and all of their institutions. And then it’s just like what we said last time: Everything is a lie. Everything you fucking know is a lie. Everything you think you know, everything in the history books—it’s all fucking lies. All of it."

Shaquille O'Neal refuses to tell his woman he’s having a bad day… and explains exactly why Fred: "Who takes care of Shaquille O’Neal?" Shaq: "Nobody. I take care of myself." "I caught flack one time I was on this young lady’s podcast, and she said, “Uh, do you express your emotion to your woman?” I said, “No, why would I do that?” Nah, but I don’t." "And the reason why? Because as a man, you are to protect, provide, and love. And women are emotional and caring." "So if I’m telling her I have a bad day, now it’s two people with bad days. I don’t tell my woman I’m having a bad day. I just tell her, “I’m good, baby. I gotta take care of it.” "if you put stress on her, she’s gonna put it right back on you." Cause it’s our job to protect, provide, and love." I take care of everything, and that’s just how it’s gonna be."

Ryan Clark admits he changed who he was to survive at ESPN: “I knew I couldn’t be too Black.” “To answer that, I think what makes me a little bit, though, sad about myself is I did adjust who I was to try to keep my job. I did have meetings with people and say, ‘Okay, what is it that you need from me?’ Not the analyst—the analyst was damn good, right? If you care about the person that’s on TV, what is it you need from me? Because I want to do that. I want to build a relationship. I want to involve you in the things I’m doing. You know, man, like this show—for three years, bro—we never shied away from any topic. We never shied away from tackling anything. We did this year because I knew I couldn’t have no beef. I knew I couldn’t respond to disrespect, right? I knew, for lack of a better word, I knew I couldn’t be too Black.”

Ryan Clark reveals the painful truth after ESPN fired him: “I feel like I let them win.” “I feel like there’s a group of people - a faction of individuals - who wanted to devalue my voice, who wanted to take away my platform. I feel like I let them win, you know? But then there’s the other side of it, of like, my platform isn’t as big anyway, or it’s not as impactful anyway, if I don’t do those things - if I’m not that person, if I’m not authentically me.”
