Serenity in the shockwaves. Since Flight 1, the idea of trying to capture Super Heavy's exhaust flow interaction with the launch mount has been burned into my head. There are many variables that go into planning a shot like this so it has been an enormous challenge to get to this point... but the footage below from Flight 9 serves as a great starting point for future attempts before Pad A is redesigned. Good morning from Space Launch Complex 41! The teams at ULA are gearing up to launch the mighty Atlas V 551 rocket for Project Kuiper’s second operational mission tomorrow afternoon. The 30-minute launch window opens at 1:25p local time. It’s always a treat coming out to 41. Personally it’s my favorite complex to have cameras at for launch because you’re in such close proximity to both Atlas & Vulcan here. It’s insane! 📸 - NSF - NASASpaceflight.com 👓 -
