Pearl Thusi has come out in support of Chidimma Adetshina as she continues her legal fight to obtain permanent residency in South Africa. Former Miss South Africa contestant Chidimma Adetshina is challenging her deportation at the Cape Town Regional Court. She is expected to submit an affidavit after 14:00 outlining the steps she has taken to regularise her immigration status. Adetshina was arrested on 6 June on allegations of being in the country illegally.

Even if she wins, won’t her life still be in danger? I understand that South Africa is the only home she has known, having lived here for most or all of her life. However, if her safety is genuinely at risk, why not consider relocating? Even if Nigeria isn’t an option for her, there are many other African countries where she could build a new life.
