Sirik: The Strait’s Dead End One IRGC Navy base has played a leading role in the attempted blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, with at least four vessels struck in its immediate vicinity. Satellite imagery reveals the current status of the Sirik IRGC Navy base , the key facility responsible for holding the closure line of the Strait of Hormuz as of May 4, 2026. The base was heavily damaged during CENTCOM strikes in Operation Epic Fury. The communication compound, buried weapons storage bunkers, and boat houses were all destroyed. Despite the extensive damage, the facility still shows clear signs of continued activity.Several small civilian-type skiffs in different colors are lined up along the shoreline, while a military fast boat is parked beside the wreckage of another destroyed fast boat in the center of the base. A mobile command post is also visible in the small annex area. These findings illustrate how the IRGC continues to operate its critical military sites even after widespread destruction: relying on small, mobile units with degraded capabilities and limited munitions that nevertheless persist in attempting to harass shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
