Ok maybe rewriting the terminal 5 times was actually worth it.

The new Solo desktop app has been in the hands of beta users for about a week! Now rolling it out to 25% of regular users. If all goes well, it'll be generally available tomorrow! Your single app for working with every agent and managing your dev stack 🤤

In perhaps the most Try Hard way possible: we shipped dark and light mode *videos* for the course. With a little thought and planning up front by Steve Tenuto, it ended up being relatively easy! Lemme walk you through it

Claude Code made key sections of my launch video for me (quoted) In this specific chunk, I had Claude write out a fake terminal interaction using ANSI codes so I could time it out to the music and create the ANSI explosion effect! There are a couple other tricks here too 1/

I've spent most of this week focusing on performance, getting memory and CPU down. Turns out the big wins basically boil down to: don't do stupid things. The fastest code is code that doesn't run at all

Gemini Deep Research has totally altered the way I use Google. Instead of trawling forums, videos, and old docs, Gemini does it for me. It looked at ~200 different sources (!) to help debug a remote resolution issue. Not sure what it means for SEO, but it's a huge time saver.

I've been building Solo for several months, and it's out today! It's a desktop app that manages your entire dev stack. Add a project, Solo detects your processes, and you can start everything with one click. It's free! Try it today:

Instead of going back and forth with your agent saying "hmm little more, no a little less" just ask it to build you a control to tweak it yourself, then give it the params you like.

They say AI is the end for developers. They say the job market is gone. They say learning to code is pointless. I don’t buy it. I think we're just getting started.

📣 My next course, Introduction to Postgres, is going to be 100% free! The kind folks at Supabase are sponsoring it so that everyone can learn how to use Postgres confidently. But that's not all... I'm changing things up a bit. I'm making a bet. Watch the video to see more!

I was 3D modeling my new office last night and told Claude to hand off to a new thread. It did so, then said "Enjoy the new office." I took a screenshot and told a new Claude to make a video about how it feels to die. It one-shotted this video and composed all the music

I wrote zero lines of this code. I think things are changing more rapidly than I understood. I probably spent 30 minutes talking to Opus 4.5 about it, and now I have a fully functioning tool. And I'm making more tools every day. I don't think we're slowing down!

I'm getting a new office space in November. I went today and took pictures and a 3D scan with some app on my phone. I gave all the files to Codex and told it to render it while I got on a call. Here you can see the clean render, and the 3D scan as well! Wild times.

Here's my quick demo of a Laravel-native version of the new "composer dev" command that was just shipped! It's like npx concurrently, but a little bit nicer and more powerful. Lemme know! (Thanks to Joe Tannenbaum and his Laracasts course for the inspiration.)

Yesterday I tweeted DHH and asked if we could talk about SQLite. To my surprise and delight, he said yes! It's a fun conversation spanning SQLite, Campfire, the one-person framework, Stoicism, and their new ONCE product! Click on the video to see the full discussion.

The new Solo app is out! Run your agents, terminals, and devstack all in one app. I've increased the free tier, cleaned up the terminal, made trusting commands less annoying, fixed a few zsh issues, shift+enter issues, etc. Lots of good stuff!
