Victor Caratini, who is likely the Twins' slowest runner, made their AL-high fifth out on the bases. And it wasn't particularly close.

Brooks Lee, who has a 25th percentile sprint speed, was easily thrown out at the plate on the back end of a double steal. Instead of two runners on for Trevor Larnach, the Twins ran themselves out of the inning. Seemed particularly iffy to test Elly De La Cruz's amazing arm.

For anyone who still insists on evaluating defense by error totals, this was ruled as a "double" and an earned run against Zebby Matthews.

Umpire called Jose Miranda safe, saying the fielder didn't touch the base to get the forceout. But then Miranda just walked away and got tagged out anyway.

Bryan Abreu, who was headed to the Twins in a deadline trade for Trevor Larnach before Astros owner Jim Crane nixed the deal, just allowed a three-run homer with Houston's season on the line.

Vikings fans: Here's audio of Paul Allen's radio call on KFAN1003 for the game-tying touchdown/conversion and walk-off field goal, synced with video. It's pure PA. "And the Minnesota Vikings have completed the greatest comeback in the history of the National Football League!"

What if ... Ryan Kreidler can actually hit now? After his fifth homer, Kreidler is up to .290/.365/.527 in 104 plate appearances with the Twins. Helluva development for a glove-first utility player.

I'm such a sucker for the crowd shots of a player's family watching their MLB debut. Never gets old.

It's a dark time for the Twins. Our personal message to Twins fans and especially Gleeman and The Geek listeners: We're not going anywhere, and we'll never stop speaking freely and critically about the team. We're devoted to doing right by Twins fans even if the Twins aren't.

After last night's win, I asked manager Derek Shelton if anything had given him the sense this turnaround would be coming when the Twins started 3-6. I thought his answer was interesting, because it included on-field and off-field factors. "This group really likes each other."
