My father has always been adamant that the most jaw-dropping place he's ever seen isn't the Colorado plateau, Black Forest, or Swiss Alps but rather Kahmard district of Bamyan. He “camped” there, in its most remotest areas for 3 days in 1975. After seeing this video (and a few others over the years), I think I get it. Ps - Kahmard has a fascinating history of rebellion and autonomy to the emerging Afghan state until the reign of Dost Mohamad Khan. PPS - in our family there is also a sad and tragic story of a young Kahmardi worker. God bless his soul. Kahmard 👇
