A resident in Abuja reported an incident of police harassment. The individual was picked up by their brothers from the Idu train station, and on their way home to Lugbe, they were stopped by police officers who demanded documents and questioned their occupation. After providing the necessary information, the police insisted on taking them to the station. When the individual and their companions refused, the officers allegedly began assaulting them, handcuffing them, and eventually took their car and two friends to the station, even damaging the car's windshield. The person involved chose to stay at the location of the incident instead of following the officers to the station, sharing the information and recordings of the incident to help spread awareness. I am appalled beyond words. This is the heartbreaking story of Imtiyas, an SS2 student at Beautiful Beginning Academy, Zone E Legislative Quarters, Apo, Abuja. Imtiyas was chained like an animal by some SS3 boys in the school, who went as far as recording this horrifying act. Being a boarding school, his mother was unaware of the situation. It was only when a sibling visited the school to deliver something that they found Imtiyas in a frail state. That was when the truth came to light. He was immediately taken home and hospitalized. Shockingly, this is not the first time Imtiyas has been subjected to bullying, but this incident is particularly cruel. To make matters worse, the school has refused to take any action against the perpetrators, who behaved more like animals than students. We are calling on the authorities to investigate this case and ensure justice is served. Bullying in schools must stop. Imtiyas is not just their victim—he is our son, our brother, and a member of our community. I have spoken to his mother and obtained her consent to raise this issue. We stand with Imtiyas and his family, and we will not rest until justice is served. This is a call to all Nigerian bloggers, activists, and concerned citizens: let’s amplify this injustice. Man Dies After Days With Side Chic in Karu-Jikwoyi Hotel. A tragic incident has been reported in Karu-Jikwoyi, Abuja, where a 47-year-old man, Yunusa Ahmadu Yusuf, popularly known as Buhun Barkonun (AMAC) and serving as the FCT Chief Advocate on Community Development, has passed away. According to reports, Yunusa had checked into a hotel with a woman identified as Ruth on Tuesday, 8th September 2025. During their stay, he allegedly refused to eat any food and instead consumed alcohol continuously. On the morning of the incident, Ruth, concerned about his condition, reportedly bought him an energy drink. Shortly after taking it, he slipped into a coma. Efforts by Ruth and the hotel management to rush him to the hospital proved futile, as he was declared dead on arrival. Suspected EFCC Operatives Raid FUTMinna Student Lodges, Manhandle and Abduct Over 50 Students. Reports indicate that a suspected group of armed operatives, allegedly wearing EFCC vests, conducted an unauthorized raid on student lodges at the Federal University of Technology Minna (FUT Minna). The raid, which occurred around midnight on September 4th, 2024, lasted over four to five hours. During the operation, multiple students sustained physical injuries as they were forcibly arrested in their lodges. The suspected operatives, allegedly acting outside the law, forcefully broke into the main gate and the doors of various rooms and lodges in the Gidankwano off-campus area of FUT Minna. They harassed, battered, and manhandled students, many of whom were awakened from sleep. Gunshots were reportedly fired, and the operatives threatened to shoot anyone who resisted their actions. The raid has caused widespread outrage and panic, particularly as many of the affected students were scheduled to sit for their final exams today. As a result, all academic activities at the university have been put on hold. The location of the abducted students remains unknown at this time, leaving students and parents in a state of turmoil following this tragic incident.
