Legal Color Commentator. I'm an experienced trial and appellate litigator and I call the shots as I see them.

Not to criticize anyone's tastes but I for one get a little tired of logging in just to scroll endless angles and views and edits of a human being killed on camera. So enjoy my dog being a total goof on her walk.

Kitten update #31: Clicker training started today. It's slow going with 5 and we have to start with the basics - learning our names. Actually, learning to eat the treats without biting off my fingers might be step 1(a) but click-treating that might be getting too meta. Did a big cleanout/rearrange of the cat room since they no longer need the heating pad and don't go near the crate anymore. Also started some work on the studio - thanks everyone for pointing me to your favorite cat-proofing methods for cables! It's funny watching alliances and grievances form and reform and dissipate. Despite all the disagreements, everyone always comes together in the end.

Kitten update #25: We're starting to let the kittens explore more of the house. The soda cases are blocking the door gap to keep them from escaping, but it's also provided a convenient barrier that Buffy respects so that the door can be open and the kitties can decide whether to engage with her or not. So far, they have enthusiastically chosen YES. Fortunately, Buffy has realized that the face end tastes better than the tail end because it might have some cat food on it. Besides the dog time, they also got to have new experiences with wood floors (soooo slippery!), stairs (fun to leap on), and the robot vacuum (not really that scary but not really making friends either). I suspect the afternoon nap will be extra intense today.

Kitten update #30: Whoever recommended the boxing bag toy, it's been a hit! Of course my girl Lilith is the first to let her paws go. The kitties got to come into the studio for the first time yesterday. I now many of you are waiting for the inevitable stream and hoping the kitties will participate, but there's a bit of a problem a studio means cables everywhere, and (as I discovered) they can't be trusted around them. I can't take my eyes off them for a second. How do people protect their cables from kittens? It was never a problem with the puppies because they hated being scolded and learned fast not to touch them, but the kitties just look at me and laugh and stare me in the eye while taking a big chomp. Is there a non-duct tape solution?

Kitten update #8: The kitties are back home! Everyone is getting very strong and active now. I forgot to take their weights this morning so I'll have to do it before the next feeding, but I'm confident everyone is continuing to gain. We started adding in some wet food today. I mixed up a slurry with some of the formula and stuck it in a syringe with a nipple on it. Nobody took to it right away except gray tuxedo, who loved it, but everyone else got some squirted in while they were chewing on the milk nipple and then they loved it. Well, except for dark tortie, which is a little ironic since she is by far the biggest little monster of the litter, but I guess she's done so well on the formula she's not interested in making a change yet. Butts are all looking SO much better now that I stopped using the wet wipes. However, we have now started to have some concerns about little to no pooping. Dark tortie hasn't pooped for 24 hours so I eliminated the yogurt from the formula and am crossing my fingers for some action before the end of the day or back to the vet she goes. I don't know how long they'll let me play with their tummies like this but it sure is fun for now!
