reminds me of thriller rehearsal - I don’t think his athletic strength as a dancer is talked about as much as his innate gift/unique style. That toe stand hold in soft shoes is nasty 😮💨

MJ wasn’t dropping trios of albums or 19 versions of the same song - when he released it was strategic & iconic - I love that the biopic captured this essence

I want to talk about this more bc I’m tired of (some) ppl assuming Michael wasn’t in pain. Here’s a very clear detail of him with acute lupus flare (you can see the malar rash), post FIRST surgical repair of scalp injury - he’s not just smoothing back sweat, it isn’t just blush, you can see he is consciously/subconsciously aware of the injury. Dealing with an autoimmune attack that makes it considerably hard to heal, and STILL delivering a powerful performance ❤️🩹 Nerve pain is literally the toughest bc providers do NOT historically manage it well - especially for a black man who’s easily dismissed- typical pain meds do NOT take care of it well. Now think about this level of care 40 years ago

Elite Female Artists who Matched MJ's performance fire with him in short film/tour ~ A Thread 🧵 1. Lorraine Fields, Smooth Criminal - sassily perfected the smooth wallet snatch. Mind you, she was in Thriller too - dynamically exquisite performer.
