I’ve seen many say Mainoo doesn’t have the legs to play as a #10… The pivot is far more physically demanding. I truly believe Amorim’s #10 roles (specifically left) are tailor made for Kobbie. Think back to his Liverpool performances, the goal against Wolves, his FA Cup final goal. This is the area of the pitch he thrives in. Receiving between the lines; fast, small-space exchanges and cute, inventive through balls slipped to disguised runners. It means you can place a more progressive passer (Wharton, Stiller) in the pivot to accompany Ugarte, while actually having elite receivers between the lines (Mainoo and Amad).

Absolutely stunning free-kick from Thwaites. Equal parts power and placement. What a wonderful footballer he's shaping up to be.

Kobbie Mainoo on what Erik Ten hag told him after last year's Carabao Cup victory: “Your day will come, we are going to win trophies together and your day is coming.” Today he scored in the FA Cup final to win his first major trophy under Ten Hag. What a story.

Ngwashi with a brilliant header to draw United level. Darren Fletcher’s side have been the better team in the first half despite a couple of early chances for Palmeiras. Now 1-1 at half-time.

Back in June I sat down with Jay Motty to discuss five young players United should try to sign in the summer transfer window - one of which was Cristhian Mosquera. I compared the market opportunity he represented to Dean Huijsen's move from Juventus to Bournemouth for a bemusing fee of £12.6m last summer. Arsenal recruiting Mosquera for a similar sum is remarkable business and puts him among the signings of the summer. He's been in England for a matter of weeks but is performing like a seasoned pro in the Premier League, which speaks to not only his current ability but his immense potential. Real bitter one to take as a United fan.

Wolves have beaten a host of Premier League clubs to the signing of Kwasi Senyah from Coventry City, as per Wolves Youth. The 5’11 defensive midfielder is technically adept with a fantastic passing range and provides strong defensive coverage in the middle of the park. Some of his highlights from last season:
