We just killed the like button. Why? Because it means nothing. A “like” when someone shares something hard? A “like” when someone asks for help with a vendor? It’s lazy. It’s outdated. It adds noise, not signal. Workweek is building a new kind of social platform. One built for business leaders. Leaders who want to grow. Who need someone to commiserate with. Who want a trusted space to talk shop. But traditional social platforms don’t optimize for those conversations. They reward dopamine loops, posturing, and engagement bait. They’re built to boost DAUs, not your career. We’re not doing that. So we removed likes. We removed emojis. In their place: - Context-aware reactions powered by AI that drive easy connections - Private replies that actually start conversations - No AI slop in the comments. As always, only real verified people, talking to each other This isn’t about going viral. It’s about providing value. Real signal. Real connection. Real outcomes.
