BREAKING: Crisis Hits Kano NDC as Seriake Dickson Reportedly Rejects Kwankwasiyya-Dominated Candidate List A fresh crisis appears to be unfolding within the Kano State chapter of the NDC following reports that the Supreme Leader of the party, Senator Seriake Dickson, has rejected the list of Kano NDC candidates allegedly dominated by members of the Kwankwasiyya camp. According to Kano NDC spokesperson, Ibrahim Waya, Senator Dickson has directed Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to implement the agreed 60/40 sharing formula between the Kwankwasiyya bloc and the old NDC structure in the state. The development has triggered serious tension within the party, as old NDC members reportedly accuse the Kwankwasiyya camp of attempting to hijack the party structure and impose its loyalists across key positions. Party insiders say the rejection of the candidate list is a major setback for Kwankwaso’s camp and could deepen the internal battle for control of the NDC in Kano ahead of the 2027 elections. The crisis also raises fresh questions about the stability of the NDC in Kano, especially as both camps now appear locked in a struggle over party ownership, candidate selection, and political control.
