Two of our barn owls in full colour today. The females are generally darker, heavier and bigger, but I have seen colour variations making identification on colouring alone difficult. Females normally have the buff markings on their chests and darker feathers overall. Conservation@althorp.com Chris Payne

Unprecedented flash flooding in our Estate villages. Estate staff worked long into the night at many estate properties doing what we could. The roads were running like rivers. Big thank you to Dylan Hartley for all your help. Conservation@althorp.com #flooding #Spencerestates
