Zen Technologies's Ashok Atluri reiterates these points in almost every concall. While I'm not sure to what extent some of their latest products like guns are IDDM, imo Zen is one of the few firms which tries to have as much IP as possible through R&D / acquisition. Vector Technics is probably the best example.

'There are things beyond getting the capability. Everytime we've faced threats we imported to match immediate requirements & it had impacted us, we haven't been able to produce the next one. So AMCA is what we should double down on.' ACM RKS Bhadauria is spot on Imo: We have indeed paid too much attention on getting the capability with seemingly little thought on the cost & impact. War is not won by 1v1 counters or 'silver bullets'. There are multiple ways to accomplish tasks when constrained. It is time for us to admit that we have constraints but for once please don't run outside seeking a solution. The short - medium term issues are the price we must pay for prior neglect & incompetence. Pay it now or pay it later when we can least afford to.

Exercise Vayu Samanvyay showcased UAS & Counter-UAS innovations from Western Command & South Western Command - Good to see increasingly better scale adoption of drones by the Army Next challenge should ideally be to ensure they're from Indian OEMs with own product level R&D having as many IDDM parts as possible.
