Hasan Piker has a massive platform - with over 11.3 million followers - and he's used it to normalize and amplify extremist rhetoric. The prominent Twitch streamer has explicitly expressed support for U.S.-designated terrorist organizations, including Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and the PFLP. Piker recently said, "I would vote for Hamas over Israel every single time" and he's called Hezbollah's flag his "favorite." On multiple occasions, he's used the dehumanizing terms "inbred" and "psychopath" to refer to Israeli and Orthodox Jews. He's also used rhetoric that trivializes the Holocaust, including by insinuating that Anne Frank would have supported the Houthis and equating Israel with Nazi Germany. Jews are not alone on the receiving end of Piker's vile rhetoric. On his livestreams, Piker has made misogynistic jokes about date rape and responded to Black critics with vulgar sexual insults. Piker amplifies this pattern of hate to millions of followers. His growing involvement in electoral politics and mainstream media spreads these toxic messages far beyond fringe spaces.

Casting Hasidic Jews as foreign, criminal, or “not real Americans” is straight out of the antisemitic playbook. This kind of rhetoric fuels harmful stereotypes and discrimination. Falsely blaming New York’s Hasidic population directly contributes to the climate in which the city just reported a 182% YOY spike in antisemitic hate crimes in January. Words matter, and public officials must do better.

Did you see the Blue Square Alliance Against Hate 2026 #SuperBowl ad? Some say it leans too heavily on Jewish victimhood or that it fails to reflect the realities of antisemitism today. And honestly, those are valid concerns. But this ad was about raising awareness and motivating people to fight anti-Jewish hate. The ADL Center for Antisemitism Research (CAR) conducted a randomized controlled trial of over 2,000 Americans, and the results are clear: The ad works, and that's a huge win. The next step? We cannot tolerate a society in which students are threatened or intimidated. No parent should ever have to ask whether it's safe to send their kids to certain schools.
