🔸One of the things that pains me most about the Kariba Ferry disaster is that most of the people on the boat were travelling to rural Kariba, carrying goods for resale in their small businesses. A great number of them were women. Who doesn’t know that all too familiar story of a mother carrying a baby on her back with another in hand going off to buy and sell goods to feed her family? It’s unsurprising that it’s reported that one of the victims of the tragedy was recovered with a baby on her back. This is a community that never asked for handouts or government grants. All they needed was a functional public transport system so that they could work and feed their families yet the Govt failed them. They hate poor people. We need new leaders.🇿🇼

🔸Good day Nick Mangwana, Is it true that it is Govt policy that members of ZANU PF get preference for admission to the Police and Army because of their political affiliation? Why is such unconstitutional discrimination a key feature of the Govt recruitment process? We need new leaders.🇿🇼

🔸Good day Nick Mangwana, Confirm the ferry that capsized in Lake Kariba is run by a government agency? Why would government allow such an unsafe vessel operate in this manner? Why were no precautions taken to avoid overcrowding? Who is being held accountable for the deaths caused by this government institution? Why was the emergency response so ineffective? We need new leaders.🇿🇼

🔸One of the main reasons I resigned from Parliament of Zimbabwe is because ZANU PF has completely castrated this institution, stripped it of its ability to execute its constitutional mandate of holding the Executive to account and rendered it a lifeless museum piece. Why is this captured member of the Speaker’s panel denying Kariba MP, Hon Mutsa Murombedzi, the opportunity to properly debate the Kariba Ferry Disaster? This is precisely the issue that an MP from this area should be raising as a matter of law. It is a matter that goes to the root of the bad governance crisis in Zimbabwe and it is foremost in the minds of ordinary people. Why stifle true representation of the masses? Why shield this incompetent regime from scrutiny? It’s a mess. They hate the poor. We need new leaders.🇿🇼

🔸This video is heartbreaking. Zimbabwe used to be a nation where young people in school dreamt of being doctors, engineers and entrepreneurs. People like Strive Masiyiwa were heroes to young students. The good life equation was simple - hard work plus education equals success in life. Clean tap water was a given. Today, this young man begs Govt Ministers and other leaders to allow young people to guard boreholes as a means of employment. He laments the fact that the water coming out of the boreholes is dirty. He begs them to set up purification facilities. Is this why they went to war? If things are this broken now, imagine how tattered the country will be by 2030? Are you surprised that young people would rather swim across a croc-infested Limpopo River in search of a better life? If you aren’t outraged, you aren’t paying attention. It’s a mess. We need new leaders.🇿🇼

🔸In a functional jurisdiction, we don’t expect to see one aircraft on wet lease being the full offering of the airline. Air Zimbabwe used to be a fully operational air carrier. What happened? Why musirikuda kutipindura ipapo? If you don’t address problems at their root, how do you expect your “solutions” to be sustainable? We need new leaders.🇿🇼
