On behalf of the Minister for Transport, Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe, under whose leadership I serve, I had the privilege of joining the management of Metro Mass Transit in Egypt for the final inspection of three hundred (300) ISUZU buses slated for delivery to Ghana. This important undertaking reflects the Minister’s clear vision and policy direction to strengthen Ghana’s public transport system through strategic investment in modern, reliable, and efficient mass transit. The arrival of these buses will significantly expand fleet capacity, improve service coverage, reduce long waiting times, and enhance safety and comfort for commuters. In practical terms, this intervention will ease the daily burden on workers, students, and traders, help decongest our roads, lower overall transport costs, and contribute to a more orderly and environmentally responsible urban transport system. I am sincerely grateful to Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe for the trust and confidence placed in me to carry out this assignment. His guidance and leadership continue to drive the Ministry’s efforts toward delivering practical solutions that directly impact the lives of citizens. I visited the Jaway Wharf community with the Board Members of Ghana Maritime Authority to gain first-hand insight into current marine transport activities. As a border town, most movement in the area is done by boats. We engaged community members on the importance of safety in their daily operations. We also held discussions with the Ghana Navy and Ghana Immigration Service, who shared some of the challenges they face. With a Ghana Maritime Authority office set to be established soon, the safety needs of the community will be better addressed through the provision of logistics and public education to ensure smooth and secure operations. #jomoromp #deputytransportministry #JomoroAnyelazo

After years of appeals from drivers, transport unions, and surrounding communities, the absence of a DVLA office in Jomoro became a pressing concern. Following sustained engagement with the leadership of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority, this request has now been approved. A DVLA office will be established in Jomoro this year, bringing essential services closer to our people and easing the burden on drivers and vehicle owners across the constituency and nearby towns.
