Cornell University President Michael I. Kotlikoff released a public statement throwing the Cornell 7 under the bus, confidently stating, contrary to Cornell’s own internal Title IX investigation, that Jane Doe, also known as Lucy Craig, was a survivor of “sexual assault.” Kotlikoff also commended Governor Hochul’s decision to appoint Attorney General Letitia James to oversee the case and potentially press criminal charges against the young men who have had their reputations ruined in the fallout of Craig’s widely-publicized, but utterly unsubstantiated, allegations. Candace Owens called the Cornell 7 incident proof that we are living in an “Epstein Society” while attacking the accused fraternity brothers as “despicable.” Owens labeled both parties disgusting in the case and condemned the “vitriolic” response on both sides, calling for those defending Craig or the Cornell 7 to be jailed. She additionally claimed that the true “victim” in the whole incident, which has seen the falsely accused men lose their jobs, suffer incalculable reputational damage, and receive thousands of death threats from strangers, is herself.
