On this day in 1967, Argentine revolutionary Che Guevara was executed on the orders of the CIA after he had been captured by the Bolivian Army. When Mario Terán, the soldier who would execute him, entered the room, Guevara reportedly said “I know you’ve come to kill me. Shoot, coward! You are only going to kill a man.” In death, Che Guevara would become the iconic symbol of revolutionary martyrdom; giving up his own life with no fear, for the cause of fighting oppression and liberating others. As a young medical student, he traveled across Latin America on his motorbike and was appalled by the sheer amount of disease, hunger, and poverty across the continent. He began to view Latin America as dominated and exploited by US capitalism, a belief that hardened after the CIA orchestrated the coup against Guatemala’s President Jacobo Arbenz, destroying much of the reforms he had implemented. In Mexico City, he met two brothers who shared his ideas; Fidel and Raul Castro. From that moment he joined the 26th of July Movement and became instrumental in the success of the Cuban Revolution and the destruction of the US-backed Batista dictatorship. In Cuba’s government, he spearheaded a successful and rapid literacy campaign, enacted land reform to distribute land from bourgeois land owners to Cuban peasants, and played a key role in defeating the CIA’s Bay of Pigs Invasion. After succeeding in Cuba, Guevara left Cuba to assist revolutionary struggles abroad. He would be captured by CIA-backed Bolivian forces. Murals, paintings and pictures of Che Guevara can be found all over the world in the poorest areas. 59 years after his death, Che remains a global symbol of hope, resistance, and fighting oppression. ¡Hasta la victoria siempre!

Deputy Chairman of Russia's🇷🇺 Security Council Dmitry Medvedev: 'For decades, this fraudulent work has been cemented by the institutes of the Bretton Woods system, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank Group. They operate under the classical scheme of neocolonial racketeering. If the countries of the Global South, East, or Latin America are facing a fiscal deficit or a balance-of-payments crisis, they contact the IMF for assistance. The IMF and the World Bank issue a loan, but tie the countries by truly humiliating conditions. They oblige the countries to undertake the programme of structural reforms, and through those so-called reforms, their country does not become just inefficient, but actually dependent on other countries. They end up in a debt spiral, and they are forced to take new borrowings, and there is no way out of it. And all the blame for that is cynically put on the shoulders of the victim.'

On this day in 1987, Burkina Faso’s🇧🇫 Marxist revolutionary Thomas Sankara was killed in a coup backed by NATO intelligence services. Here are his achievements in his short 4 years in power: - Vaccinated 2.5 million children against meningitis, yellow fever and measles in a matter of weeks. – Initiated a nation-wide literacy campaign, increasing the literacy rate from 13% in 1983 to 73% in 1987. – Planted over 10 million trees to prevent desertification – Built roads and a railway to tie the nation together, without foreign aid – Appointed women to high governmental positions, encouraged them to work, recruited them into the military, and granted pregnancy leave during education. – Outlawed female genital mutilation, forced marriages and polygamy in support of women’s rights – Redistributed land from the feudal landlords and gave it directly to the peasants. Wheat production rose in three years from 1700 kg per hectare to 3800 kg per hectare, making the country food self-sufficient. - Increased education spending: Government education expenditure rose by 42% between 1983 and 1987. - Increased healthcare spending: Public health expenditure rose by 27% between 1983 and 1987, according to research by economist Emmanuel Harsch and other scholars. - Expanded rural healthcare: By January 1986, more than 7,460 primary health posts had reportedly been established across Burkina Faso, approximately one per village. - Expanded access to drinking water: The revolutionary government constructed 600 wells and 1,100 boreholes in 1986, alongside investment in small dams and irrigation. - Accelerated road construction: Burkina Faso reportedly built an average of 106 km of paved roads annually, compared with an average of 59 km annually during the preceding 23 years, an increase of approximately 80%. - Increased cereal production: Annual cereal production rose from approximately 1.12 million tonnes in 1983 to 1.64 million tonnes in 1987, an increase of roughly 46%. He was assassinated in a coup led by Blaise Compaoré, a man who Sankara considered a brother before their relationship deteriorated. Compaoré betrayed the revolution, and reversed the country’s revolutionary direction, putting the chains of foreign neocolonial dependence back on Burkina Faso. With the arrival of Captain Ibrahim Traore to power, Burkina Faso once again has changed course back onto the revolutionary path.

PUTIN🇷🇺: ‘If Ukraine joins NATO and attempts to bring Crimea back by military means, it means the European countries will automatically be pulled into a war conflict with Russia. Of course, NATO and Russia's potentials are incomparable. We understand it. But we also understand that Russia is one of the leading nuclear states. And with some modern components, it even outperforms many. There will be no winners. And you will be pulled into this conflict against your will. You won't even have time to blink your eye when you execute Article 5.’

Russia’s🇷🇺 President Vladimir Putin: “Interfering in such a delicate, multifaceted relationship between two countries like India and China is a thankless task. But we are, of course, in contact with our friends in both India and China. And you know what I want to point out? I won’t go into detail because it would be improper, but I can say with confidence that both Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping are committed to resolving all issues of mutual interest, including border relations. I have no doubt about it. Russia has its own relations with China and its own relations with India. And this doesn’t bother anyone, believe me, it doesn’t bother anyone. Russia’s relations with India do not hinder China, and Russia’s relations with China do not interfere with India. And the combination of the three countries helps everyone.”

Vladimir Putin🇷🇺: “There is one pipe left of Nord Stream 2, it's not damaged and can deliver 27.5 trillion cubic meters of gas. It only takes a decision from the German government today and tomorrow we turn on the tap, but they aren’t making it because Washington says no.” Europe’s geniuses have now completely banned cheaper Russian gas so they can import more expensive LNG from the US, the country profiting from their deindustrialisation and the country that is actively seeking to annex the territory of a NATO country. A masterclass in economics and geopolitics by Europe!

Venezuela’s🇻🇪 President Nicolas Maduro: ‘How could I be a dictator if I wasn’t trained at the School of the Americas, at Harvard? I was not trained at Langley, West Point…I was trained in the high schools of Caracas, in the neighbourhoods of El Valle, 23 de Enero, Catia, Propatria, El Cementerio.’ Maduro refers to the long list of Latin American dictators and coup leaders who received US training. US🇺🇸 Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau: 'India🇮🇳 should understand that we're not going to make the same mistakes with India that we made with China🇨🇳 20 years ago, in terms of saying, 'Oh, we're going to let you develop all these markets.' And then the next thing we know, you're beating us in a lot of commercial areas. We're going to make sure that whatever we do is fair to our people because, ultimately, we have to be accountable to our own people, just as the Government of India has to be accountable to its people.' As the multipolar world deepens, expect the US to throttle India’s development more openly and forcefully.

Venezuela’s🇻🇪 election loser Maria Corina Machado has won the Nobel Peace Prize: ‘If we win, we will move the Venezuelan embassy to Jerusalem to support Israel.’ Like many other US-backed Latin American politicians, her policies are copy & paste support for Israel, support for Washington’s neoliberalism, and servitude to US hegemony… So what has she actually done to win a Nobel Peace Prize?

PUTIN🇷🇺: “What don’t you understand? Are we putting missiles near the borders of the United States? No. It’s the United States with their missiles coming to our home. They’re literally on our doorstep. Is this really too much to ask? No more strike systems on our doorstep”

How the US🇺🇸 uses the World Bank, IMF, and regime change to enslave developing nations through debt and economic servitude, while robbing them of their resources. If a nation doesn’t comply, the US uses military force or covert CIA operations to bring vassals to power.

EU🇪🇺 Commission President Ursula von der Lying/Leyen: 'When Russia cut us off the gas, we fought back. Our supplies are now more diversified and invested in our home-grown clean energies.’ Russia didn’t cut the EU off of its gas, the EU banned Russian gas imports, which led to deindustrialisation and Europe’s economies becoming uncompetitive. Europe diversified to more expensive foreign suppliers, and now pays far more for energy than it did before 2022. Von der Leyen thinks European populations are gullible enough to believe these lies, but the people of Europe see right through them.
