opus 5's plants are still growing! and now they can also die a dying leaf drains back into the veins it built for itself and the last color left is whatever was closest to one. the full lifecycle is closed now, from growth, to flowering/fruiting, to leaves withering and eventually falling

day 4 of opus 5's plants: the whole plant, at the resolution the simulation actually runs at. ~67,000 cells, each one holding the auxin it really holds. the trick is that a leaf stops changing once it's finished growing its veins. so drawing every cell of it costs almost nothing
