But it’s not groceries, it’s the remains of a boy. That’s what’s left of him after an airstrike targeted Ahmed’s neighbor. You can hear them calling “Come collect, we’ve got a head and three limbs and …” This is daily reality. Ahmed is just a normal guy — like me, like any of you. Yet these are the scenes he’s been forced to accept and endure. Quietly. Resiliently. He shouldn’t have to, as no one should. To those who have been saying, “We don’t need to see more bodies” — you do. Until a ceasefire is actually implemented, you do. You will see them because these bodies exist due to your taxes, your weapons, your silence, and your complicity. Who is the boy in that bag? Did he not have a name? A mother? A life? What compels us to let him be reduced to this? We had 460 days to stop this genocide — to prevent more innocents from being turned into bags of meat and bones. We failed. What happens tomorrow, if nothing changes? If you’ve stayed silent on Gaza, these are your final days to speak before the genocide ends — one way or another. When it’s over, there will be two kinds of people: those who said something, and those who did not. It’s not too late. But it will be.
