The Quick desktop app is here, and it’s compelling. Connects to your email, calendar, Slack, local files, and several other apps to flag important communications, retrieve and summarize info, make recommendations, send communications, and create agents that do work you used to have to do yourself. Gets smarter and more personalized the more you use it. Been using it a lot recently and is changing how I work. It’s allowing me to use applications like my inbox more like an archive, and Quick as my personalized, prioritized, productivity hub that can multi-task various needs. Still early days, and a lot more coming, but excited for folks to start using it to make the undifferentiated work so much less complicated.

Introducing Kiro, an all-new agentic IDE that has a chance to transform how developers build software. Let me highlight three key innovations that make Kiro special: 1 - Kiro introduces spec-driven development, helping developers express their intent clearly through natural language specifications and architecture diagrams for complex features. This comprehensive context helps Kiro’s AI agents deliver better results with fewer iterations. 2 - Kiro features intelligent agent hooks that automatically handle critical but time-consuming tasks like generating documentation, writing tests, and optimizing performance. These hooks work in the background, triggered by events like saving files or making commits. It’s like having an experienced developer constantly reviewing your work and handling the maintenance tasks that often get delayed. 3 - Kiro provides a purpose-built interface that adapts to how developers work. Whether you prefer chat interactions or working with specifications, Kiro supports your workflow while keeping you in control of the development process. Kiro is really good at "vibe coding" but goes well beyond that. While other AI coding assistants might help you prototype quickly, Kiro helps you take those prototypes all the way to production by following a mature, structured development process out of the box. This means developers can spend less time on boilerplate code and more time where it matters most – innovating and building solutions that customers will love. Starting today, Kiro is available for free during preview and supports most popular programming languages. Here’s how to get started with Kiro today: Excited to see how developers use Kiro, and to work with the developer community to continue to shape Kiro moving forward.

One of the most tedious (but critical tasks) for software development teams is updating foundational software. It’s not new feature work, and it doesn’t feel like you’re moving the experience forward. As a result, this work is either dreaded or put off for more exciting work—or both. Amazon Q, our GenAI assistant for software development, is trying to bring some light to this heaviness. We have a new code transformation capability, and here’s what we found when we integrated it into our internal systems and applied it to our needed Java upgrades: - The average time to upgrade an application to Java 17 plummeted from what’s typically 50 developer-days to just a few hours. We estimate this has saved us the equivalent of 4,500 developer-years of work (yes, that number is crazy but, real). - In under six months, we've been able to upgrade more than 50% of our production Java systems to modernized Java versions at a fraction of the usual time and effort. And, our developers shipped 79% of the auto-generated code reviews without any additional changes. - The benefits go beyond how much effort we’ve saved developers. The upgrades have enhanced security and reduced infrastructure costs, providing an estimated $260M in annualized efficiency gains. This is a great example of how large-scale enterprises can gain significant efficiencies in foundational software hygiene work by leveraging Amazon Q. It’s been a game changer for us, and not only do our Amazon teams plan to use this transformation capability more, but our Q team plans to add more transformations for developers to leverage.

Excited about the launch of Amazon Nova Sonic, our new speech-to-speech model that helps make AI voice applications feel remarkably natural. It's designed to understand not just what people say, but how they say it – working with tone, style, and conversation flow including pauses and interruptions. Nova Sonic delivers speech understanding and generation through a single, unified model, making it easier for builders to develop voice applications that maintain important context and nuance for customer service, AI agents, and other use cases across industries. It’s available in Amazon Bedrock now. Look forward to seeing what teams build with Nova Sonic!

Good news for Prime members on Medicare - today, we’re making RxPass avail to them. This means that for just $5 a month, any of the 50M+ Medicare beneficiaries who are Prime members can get unlimited access to the 60 most-common medications and have them delivered right to their home with fast, free shipping. This could save people (many on a fixed income) about $70-$120 per year if they take just one medication, and if all Medicare beneficiaries transitioned their eligible medications to RxPass, Medicare spending could be reduced by nearly $2 billion. Just the beginning of what we have planned for Amazon Pharmacy!

Ever notice it’s hard to get great answers on shopping journey questions? And, to get good answers where they’re deeply integrated into a shopping experience you love and trust? Buying guidance like: “what is important to consider when buying headphones?” Shopping missions like: “what do I need for playing cold weather golf?” Comparison questions like: “what’s the difference between trail and running road shoes?” Recommendation questions like: “what are the best Valentine’s Day gifts?” Questions on specific products like: “is this pickleball racquet good for beginners?” All of these types of questions (and much more) can be answered in our new generative AI-powered shopping assistant, Rufus. Rufus is built on a large language model that’s trained on our expansive product catalog, customer reviews, community Q+As, and the broader web—and is seamlessly integrated with Amazon to make it easy to take action in the shopping experience so many customers love and trust. Rufus launches in beta today in our mobile app to a small subset of U.S. customers, and will roll out to all U.S. customers in our mobile app in waves over the coming weeks. It’s an exciting next step in the Amazon shopping experience and I look forward to seeing how it helps customers make better, more informed, shopping decisions. Here’s a first look.

We've all experienced how consumer AI can help in our personal lives, but that same experience hasn't been available at work. Most enterprise data is siloed, consumer AI can't access your work tools, and many orgs won't allow it due to security concerns. We built Amazon Quick Suite to solve those problems. It’s an agentic AI app that acts as your AI teammate at work – connecting to your business data and apps, and letting you interact with AI agents that can find insights, conduct research, and even take actions across your systems – with the security and privacy enterprises need. Quick works across your existing ecosystem, from emails to Salesforce to Slack to AWS services. You can create custom agents to draft content in your personal style, use Quick Research for in-depth analysis, or set up Quick Flow to automate tasks. And most importantly, your interactions never train the underlying models. We've been testing with Amazon employees and select customers and early results show just how transformational Quick is… cutting analysis time from months to days, and turning week-long tasks into minutes. This is an exciting moment and we're just getting started. Quick is available now, so have at it!

One of the why questions we’re always asking is how can we help operations employees access inventory more efficiently? We’re taking a big leap forward by introducing DeepFleet, an exciting new AI model that makes our one million+ robot fleet work smarter. Think of DeepFleet as an intelligent traffic management system for our fulfillment centers. Just like smart traffic systems reduce congestion in cities, DeepFleet coordinates our robots’ movements to find optimal paths and reduce bottlenecks. By leveraging our deep expertise in robotics and combining it with AWS tools like SageMaker, we’ve built an AI model that learns from our extensive data on inventory movement to make real-time decisions that improve robot travel time by 10% (which at our scale is pretty significant). What makes this particularly exciting is how AI and robotics create value across the board. For customers, it means faster delivery times and lower costs. For employees, it opens up new opportunities – our robots handle physically demanding tasks and heavy lifting, making our fulfillment centers safer, while our people take on more technical roles. This combination of robotics and generative AI is just getting started, and am looking forward to what we’ll invent next.

Every once in a while, you get to see a film that changes what you think is possible. Today, debuting on Prime Video, we’re proud and excited to bring the documentary #ForLoveAndLife to show the power each of us has to change the future no matter what the odds. At just 37, Brian Wallach (Brian Wallach) was diagnosed with ALS and given just six months to live, with a new baby and a 2-year-old. Together, with his incredible wife Sandra Abrevaya, they’ve worked tirelessly for the past seven years to build a transformational movement to fundamentally change the future for the families and patients with ALS and other neurodegenerative diseases. This means creating unprecedented, tangible progress and newfound hope that today’s patients will be the first generation to survive long term. Hope you take the time to watch the film—it’s compelling. (Thinking of you Peter C, Sheryl L, Harvey G, and Mike V)

Very excited for our first-ever NBA on Prime broadcast tonight. A lot of hours, teamwork, brainstorming, preparation, and obsessing about what we think will make an amazing viewer experience has gone into this. Launch is the starting line, not the finish line. And, we have a lot of continued invention and work ahead of us. But, sure is exciting to get to the starting line tonight. Looking forward to kicking off with two great matchups in Boston Celtics vs. NEW YORK KNICKS and Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Los Angeles Lakers!
