So let’s talk about ILÉ IYÁN NG , an amazing local startup founded by Chef Sanni an amazing guy who poured his life’s sweat into building a local brand into a household name. His first outlet in Lekki 1 became a local destination and a must visit by many who were curious to try his pounded yam delicacies. Fast forward a year later, investors came in to help scale his brand, an error I often caution close friends to avoid. The mainland location, now called Ile Iya by whatever whatever received a bulk of the new investment with the new partners overseeing its operations. Sad to say not too long after this joint venture, Sanni almost lost his business and as it appears, the partners tried converting the brand to theirs. I have asked Sanni to fight back and any Ile-Iyan with the same likeness is no longer under Sanni’s enterprise. It’s unfair to see enterpreneurs build brands with their two hands and then suffer a need less hostile take over. Many of my friends will be approached and have already taken influencing gigs with the impostors, let me declare civil war. If you are offered that influencing gig, I go drive come your house come follow you quarrel. Money is not EVERYTHING. Please support Chef Sanni and patronize Ile-Iyan lekki phase 1. I hear say una dey carry police to bully people, na all of us sabi police! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

This was a tongue in cheek moment btw Gov Adeleke & the First Lady. Depending on the viewer it can be interpreted differently. As a son of the palace & part of the event coordination that day, I will say it was a humorous exchange. Yoruba culture is very unique! Ife Oye

Enugu Air flight crash landed in Benin City a few hours ago. Thankfully no casualties were reported and we are all thankful. Kudos to the management for being very proactive with public communications.

With a heavy heart, I am forced to come to terms with the passing of an icon Madam Onyeka Onwenu. I grew up listening to her music in the 80’s and I remember meeting her at a concert at the Shell Club RA in 1988. She left an impression on me that carried on for decades. Her records were a favorite during family road trips in the 80’s and early 90’s whenever we travelled between east & west. In September 2018, I was blessed to have her come onboard as a Brand Ambassador for House of Lunettes and she said to me “Akin just tell me whatever you need, I am here to support you”. She was a sweet soul, full of life and left a trace of joy in every room she walked into. Madam Onyeka Onwenu the Diva Extraordinaire, you are in the presence of the stars and heaven has gained another Angel. Rest well Icon! 🕊️

Thinking about investing in 🇳🇬 ? I am here to formally encourage you to take this bold step as Nigeria is open for business. Whether it’s retail, fintech, manufacturing, mining, data centres, Call Centers, AI, logistics, or agro-processing, 🔈 this is the right moment. As a local business owner & ex-Big 4 management consultant who watches closely for positive or negative signals, I am never shy about discussing the good, the bad or ugly. These are a few reasons why you should invest: ✅ Naira has stabilized, allowing proper business planning ✅ Inflation is being beaten back steadily with reduced FX volatility ✅ Investor confidence is rising — reflected in successive credit rating upgrades (Fitch, Moody’s & S&P) ✅ Sound monetary policy under the BAT administration ✅ External reserves at multi-year highs ✅ Tax reforms simplifying compliance and broadening the revenue base ✅ Significant infrastructure push (roads, coastal highway, power & logistics) ✅ Domestic refining capacity has turned Nigeria into a net exporter of petroleum products ✅ Strong rebound in corporate earnings across major listed companies ✅ Clear priority on attracting long-term productive capital I equally encourage real estate, however seek out reputable agencies or partners before investing. The foundation is being rebuilt. Those who position early will benefit most. Nigeria is open for business. Kudos to the BAT administration for this turn around. Bring your money home! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Nigeria Forward 🇳🇬💚 #smallbusinessng
