Let's talk about the most controversial call in Philippine volleyball history. For me, it's the PLDT vs. Akari match in the 2024 Reinforced Conference semifinals. PLDT had the momentum in the fifth set until a controversial net-touch call was made against Madriaga. PLDT challenged it, but the referee didn't overturn the call. As a result, Akari took the set and the match, 16-14. It became the talk of the town on socmed that day. Then in the finals against CCS, Akari got heavily booed by the crowd.
